Please anybody help in rooting my device lenovo vibe p1a42 with s288 row on ubuntu os

Hold volume up and down both when you press download.
If your flash is successful but you still don't get twrp then

If bootloader is unlocked then

This will get you twrp by adb method

thanks , i have another problem i cant understand the steps after 11 can anybody explain them to me better .

If you got stock rom s288 and just need to get twrp and root try this...

I did as directed but i reboot into stock rom and then if i check the bootloader it is also not unlocked what to do now

Have you ever flashed aboot+twrp Xml from downloaded s288 folder. That was required to unlock bootloader and install twrp

You should see download success and auto reboot after flashing that Xml.

yes i flashed the above xml files but after auto reboot the device reboots in the previous stock rom with no changes and not even the bootloader is unlocked

It will reboot in recovery not in rom. But later when you boot in rom it will be stock rom but rooted

There must be some wrong step. Did you press and hold both volume up and down keys till you see twrp flash screen

If you leave the button before or do not press you will reboot into rom and stock recovery will be restored back by the system

Nah, it was windows 10. Did it on my server pc, windows 7 worked flawlessly, first time, without any kind of problem what so ever.

On the same note, I only have usb 3.0 on my computer. So a guy that flashes phone told me that it is because of usb 3.0. When I used usb 2.0, it worked flawlessly.

Yes, qualcomm driver dont work perfectly alltime...

qualcomm hs usb qdloader 9008 driver is not detecting in device manager

I have tried all the steps which have mentioned in the post in my lenovo vibe p1 a 42. Even my phone is detected. but the issue is
qualcomm hs usb qdloader 9008 is not showing device manager .

But when I reboot the phone using reboot adl command it is showing the driver but after the phone restarts its again not showing
Pls help me

Bro drivers are not visible to your computer. Try to disable driver signature version and then it should work.

I'm unable to flash the recovery from QFIL, I receive sahara fail. Tried to flash it via fastboot, I receive download failed.

Try qfil method repeatedly with utmost patience. It will work.

It's probably problem with USB cable or drivers. Drivers are not reliable.
