will this process of rooting erase the content of the phone? or everything will be remains the same? photo apps phonebook etc... thanks

For me as u said nothing deleted
first time trying to root... i've got a lenovo vibe p1 pro p1c72 with the latest STOCK ROM (s288) for the p1a42.
1. if i follow this guide will i lose all of my personal data?
2. can i keep the stock recovery after this guide or will it be changed to the TWRP?

can i root my device without changing the TWRP? i mean... is it possible to BOOT ONLY the TWRP while my phone is connected to my PC? maybe via ADB? i read something about booting the recovery via fastboot mode on a forum, i've tried but maybe the recovery wasn't right for my phone and it couldn't reboot in the TWRP

With this guide, I'm ready to do it on my Lenovo Vibe P1.
UPDATE: I followed the instructions and everything worked fine. Now, my Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo is rooted. Although, somewhere in the step where it requires a reboot, I have to repeat it several times.
The instructions say I need to hold +, -, and power button. It didn't work. However, in post #63 (I think), an instruction was provided to hold the + and - volume only while pressing the blue download button. This one works perfectly.

If u install the stock firmware of p1a24 in your lenovo p1c72 ...there may be a chance of bricking your device
sir pls help i have done everything like everything is okay . You mentioned to press vol +,- and power button but at which time like the phone starts automatically should i press the buttons at that time? i did pressed at that time also but phone was vibrating the lenovo page was coming and going for 2 times it did so aand than i left those buttons and it started normally pls help what to do ? when to press it?
any help pls tell and also in EDL mode there is nothing on the screen its ol dark and there the led notification light doesnt light up is it okay?
