With assistance of SMKOUT333 I have added clockworkmod and rooting instructions for those who have used my version.

For those that are curious: mine and the version released by dj_steve are virtually identical after rooting. Mine is completely unmodified beyond removing the modem update. Steve's update version is pre-rooted and comes with clockwork mod preinstalled.
Awesome job TheManii! Great working with you :D

Unless you're on an EU streak7 it's not recommended to directly flash 507 as the modem update is for a different modem.

The only difference between mine and the official one is the modem update is removed
For a Wifi only version of the tablet, does this matter? I don't think mine has a cell radio. Just sayin ...

May I ask where to find these versions? THANK-YOU!

if you have a US WIFI version, why would you want to install this? Just wait a few more days and install the correct one when it's released. If you want HC that bad put dj Steve's version on and flash back to stock to put official on. Don't see the point of this for WiFi owners.

You make a good point .. but I also thought I read that the announce/ship date for the USA version has not been established. Now that I know how to flash back to stock using NVflash, I figured I would install the UK version, go light on installing a bunch of extra apps, then flash back to stock and install the USA version when it finally is available.

Are the hardware buttons disabled after installing honeycomb? Since honeycomb has the action bar.
Hardware buttons are used in a different way which I'm not used to
For example if you are in the main screen, the 'options' button doesn't do anything. Also if you hold the 'home' button you are not going to see the active applications but in order to do this you have to use the on-screen button.

My home button is dead (pretty much, it sometimes decides to work) due to static electricity. I don't feel like calling dell if the hardware buttons are not really needed with honeycomb. I hate returning and shipping stuff, so I want to avoid it if I can. Plus, I almost never use the home button anyway, for some reason I like pressing the back button, probably because it seems special since it's not available on an iPad. haha

Wifi owners should be able to install the original pkg safely as they dont have the modem.

They can install it in the normal manner for official update, flash the 507 recovery and pkg and install. The 507 recovery is in the wiki list.

The "dont install" part mainly refers to US model streak7s (the tmo usa ones) as I dont believe anyone confirmed if it's safe for that radio

Any one tried flashing this straight from DJ Steve's StreakDroid7 v1.3 GPU edition, is just a tweaked 2.2 right, which is what I have running right now!?

Or would it be recommended that I go to stock 2.2 first!?

Also, I know going back from DJ Steve's Honeystreak to stock 2.2 is a bit complicated, but StreakDroid7 v1.3 is just a tweaked 2.2 so would that just be a case of flashing via clockwork?

Sorry for all the questions, but I got quite a few gameloft games I play on mine right now, so does anyone running this know if they still work!?

Thanks for anyhelp...

the 2.2.2 based versions of streakdroid are fine, as they're still based on 2.2.2.

You can install it from those

I have unpacked the wifi version of 507 and it's more or less identical. If you're on the wifi model you should be able to directly update to it anyway.

The only difference between the eu and wifi versions is the wifi is 12 minutes older, and the changes only differ to the build stamps

Thanks, just installed, factory resetting! :D

Edit: Installed and works fine from streakdroid 1.7.

Also playing Starfront now, and have tried Asphalt 6. But anyone realize how the bottom status bar with time and wifi signal is still there in game, using and cutting off the bottom 1cm of the game (in this games case the 'X' to exit game)!!!

Added the wifi version now, it's identical to the EU version previously released, it's only for reference/future updaters.

If you're already on the EU version installing this will not change anything at all

Just for future reference when the official update comes to the US...
1. Does flashing to HC delete all installed apps?
2. What apps (for Android 2.x.x) have people seen stop working?

Bundled apps/apps in /system: yes
User installed apps: no

but it's strongly recommended to factory reset after installing as not doing it will cause issues/instability

Hello i'm from Spain, and my english is very very bad (sorry).

We are some DS7 wifi users from spain. We updated the tablet from HC 3.2 oficial and we have some problems:

- the tablet can't read the information from the sd2, but with the file explorer we can paste some information in the sd card.
- the pc can't detect the tablet (win xp, mac), we think it's drivers trouble. We found out in the dell's UK web, but there's no new drivers since the honeycomb rom has been released.

Can someone help us?

Thanks!!!!

PD: i can't open a new post cause i'm rookie. Sorry if this isn't the right place.

The update changed the USB IDs for the streak7.

The old drivers do not have these ids, but you can manually select the correct driver to install. Manually select "Android ADB Interface" from the list and it will work fine

The sdcard2 used to be a sub-folder in sdcard. It is now its own folder in local. All your info should still be there. It has just changed location.
