Intro:
The official updates are out for all regions that are going to recieve them.

If you can update via "to settings -> about device -> check for updates" you should use that. If you cannot for some reason here are update zips to manually install them for your device.

Requirements:
  • You must be on any 2.2.x, update will not work if you are on any version of honeystreak
  • Stock 2.2.2 recovery (for method one)
  • Clockwork mod 3.0 (For method two)
  • Battery charged to 60% or greater

METHOD ONE:
Instructions:
  1. Flash with fastboot (if needed):
  2. Download the correct pkg:
  3. Rename pkg to 'update.pkg' and copy to 'sdcard'
  4. Reboot
  5. Flash with 'Software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD Card'
  6. Optional: Install clockwork mod 4.0
  7. Optional: Root your device

METHOD TWO:
Instructions:
  1. Install clockwork mod 3.0
  2. Download the correct zip:
  3. Reboot
  4. Install with clockwork mod
  5. Factory reset your device
  6. Optional: Install clockwork mod 4.0
  7. Optional: Root your device

Changelog:
  • Android 3.2
  • StageUI 1.7
  • TegraZone app
  • Swype 3.25.91.30214

Credits:
  • DJ_Steve for preparing stock recovery images

Notice:
  • After installing this, you will not be able to enter fastboot mode or recovery mode if your battery is below 60%, you must charge it before using them.
  • Method two may be the more reliable method, as I do not have a S7 to thourghly test either method.
  • The EU 3G contains a new modem update, it is not updated though method two.
  • The US 4G model does not contain a new modem update.
  • The wifi models of course do not contain modems and are not affected.
If I do method 2 do I need to be rooted? And can somoeone post a thread on how to use clockwork mod.

I have the US T-Mobile 4G Version. I followed the steps for option one and I get an error message saying FOTA Mismatch Model and it says it cant continue and then reboots. Dell told me it would work if I unlocked it and T-Mobile helped me and unlocked it. What do I do?

I believe you did not do the update recovery.img.
I did the upgrade of 'recovery.img' and 'pkg', just that.

I found this procedure "update recovery.img" on the site streaksmart.com

update recovery.img

Download the Android SDK and extract it on your C: drive. I renamed the folder "Android" for simplicity and moved it to the root of the drive, but you can do whatever you want.
Turn it back on by holding the volume down (-) and the power button at the same time to enter fastboot mode.
Connect the Streak 7 to your computer.
Open a command prompt (in Windows, press Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt) and navigate to your Android SDK/tools folder. For me, it's in C:\Android\tools so I type cd c:\android\tools in the command prompt.
Then type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and press Enter.

was what I used to update the recovery, after using the upgraded pkg topic mentioned above.

I was able to get the file by just browsing to mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/misc/Streak7/

The link in the post directs to stock-506-USWifi.zip, but the file is actually named stock-506-us.zip

Good evening fellas... now if someone wants to flame me after I pose my question go ahead because heaven knows I have done my fair share but I'm at my rope's end looking for the answer to this one...

I flashed the HC update successfully via the update.pkg, and I also used the update.zip method, in either situation, when I boot my 7 back up, I only have 71.45 MB of internal storage space...

Now I KNOW I saw a post somewhere from a fella with the same problem, can't remember if he got it solved or not, BUT I can't find the freakin' post to see what he was able to do or if he got his problem resolved...

Anyone got a suggestion I'd love to hear it....

UPDATE: ok, got it squared away although I don't understand for the life of me why I had to go through this if I had never had to do it before...

For some reason the 7 was not seeing the internal storage while the ext card was in there... soooo, I NVflashed back to Froyo and noticed that it said internal storage was unavailable, and when I picked to turn on usb storage, all that would come up was the ext card. So I took it out and rebooted a couple of times and it finally came up and said I had 11.62 gb available. So I decided to go one further and tell it to reformat that drive. I then placed the ext card in there and rebooted and now all is well. So, I flashed the Froyo recovery image and decided to try to update to HC via the .pkg file (I wasn't successful the first time) and this time it went off without a hitch

How do I Flash US Stock Froyo recovery.img in Fastboot..
When I reboot with Volume Down + Power, I get message Starting Fastboot protocol...
and the message stays there for minutes and nothing happens

I am on US T-Mobile Streak 7 Unlocked
Streak is Rooted and has ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.2

Is it good to go Method 1 or method 2?

If memory serves me correctly that's all it's gonna say.... just go ahead and give the fastboot flash command and it should change and tell you it has loaded it or something, not exactly sure what comes up because I have never paid it much attention

Thanks for that quick update..
I tried to run fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
I am getting below error

---------------------------
fastboot.exe - System Error
---------------------------
The program can't start because AdbWinApi.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
---------------------------
OK

I was able to overcome the adbwinapi.dll by setting the path of Android sdk in PATH environment variable.
But now I am getting < Waiting for device> message..
In the above ADB attachment , I see inf file.. How do I install that?

Looks like I need fastboot driver..
When I connect streak in Fastboot mode, I am seeing Unknown device in Device Manager.

Any link for fastboot drivers?

IN the link that TheManii just provided are the fastboot and adb drivers for your Streak.

The fastboot drivers may still need to be manually force installed, the drivers themselves dont actually contain anything, so force installing even the wrong one (as it contains 3) has no effect.

I will be looking into it more later

Batter life is definitely IMPROVED, but what you are doing is tinkering with it more thus battery life drops per hour more, people seem to forget that one little detail...

How can you increase battery life you ask?? Put it down for a while and give it a rest!

Aw heck that's the easiest question I've answered all day... you just place the bootanimation.zip or what you want into the /data/local folder and you're set... takes about 30 seconds

If you are using the stock ROM there shouldn't be anything there. I have never looked in Stephen's ROM, but I'm sure the location is the same
