1 · Download and install QuickShortcutMaker and open the app.

2 · Scroll down to Service Program Menu (it may appear as serviceprogramu) and tap on it to expand all the activities under it.

3 · Scroll down to IOT Hidden Menu.

4 · Tap 'Create' - this will create a shortcut to IOT Hidden Menu on your home screen.

5 · Press the Home softkey and locate the new shortcut and tap it.

6 · Tap LTE Settings then tap APN Settings*then tap on*Internet.

7 · Scroll down and search for APN Type.

8 · Tap on APN Type and add following APN type to it ‘dun‘ separating it with a comma (no spaces, and no single quotes)

9 · To save these settings you need to hold and down Multitasking/recent or the Overview button on the navigation bar, this will bring up the option to save your settings.

10 · Tap Save.

11 · Now go to System Settings, and in the Network select Tethering. Attempt to enable WiFi hotspot or USB tethering if your G4 is connected to your computer by USB cable. If you get the pop-up about needing to subscribe to a tethering package, or “Due to network issues, tethering has been disabled”, you need to go back to your home screen and tap the shortcut again and continue from Step 6, but instead of selecting Internet in the APN settings you will select ‘cinet.spcs’ and add dun to the apn type.

You should now have the ability to enable WiFi, USB and Bluetooth tethering without root access and without PdaNet+ or any other pay apps.

Of course I didn't bother to give you credit. I have never even seen your post until you linked it. Why would I give credit to you if you had absolutely nothing to do with my post?

That's like saying anyone that starts a fire with two sticks should give credit to Cody Lundin because he's used the same method to achieve the end result.

This is pretty much the same method for a bunch of different LG phones that don't allow easy editing of APN settings without root, and I'm pretty certain if you mess around long enough there's ways to do it with Non-LG phones but I've been using this method since the LG Marquee in 2011. I could even post the really long way of using CDMA workshop, but this way is faster.

Mine is ZVA and IOT QuickShortcutMaker's shortcut does not work. It just says "Application is not installed".
Any suggestion?

The consensus seems to be that you need to downgrade your phone back to ZV6, then use the shortcut maker technique while in ZV6. Then you upgrade to ZV9 and access your running apps where you'll find the shortcut maker still present from running it earlier under ZV6. Pin that window in ZV9. Then upgrade to ZVA. The shortcut maker should still be present in your previous apps, pinned. So, in ZVA, you can access that pinned page to perform the edit to add ,dun and get wifi. I haven't done this, but there is another thread on this site outlining all the steps/tools you use to perform the downgrade (I think it's LGUP and LG flash or something).
