Is anyone having issues with RSD Lite 6 working? I have put my phone in fastboot mode and I can't get RSD Lite to find my phone. I have the USB drivers installed and ADB works fastboot file transfers work (even though I'm not Rooted)? I am on 4.4.4 and I have factory reset once before a few months ago.

Update: Nothing Fastboot works.

Update H.S. that was annoying to get Windowz 10 to finally install the fastboot drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I fully wipe my phone using TWRP, I still see residual files when using "File Manager" in TWRP. How can I get rid of them? Afraid these files may mess up a clean stock install.

also, when I try flash FXZ via RSD, i get "sp space is not enough' during system.img. Anyone get that too?

do you have another link with the firmware for XT1080 cause the link in the OP leads to a "forbidden site" on both my laptop and my android devices

Version 4.4.4 unless you have the recovery.img for it.

I can't "dd" or adb pull the recovery.img from my device and I can't find a 100% stock firmware to extract it from.

Thank you

Trouble flashing stock firmware

I have a Droid Maxx, got it from Swappa earlier this month and it arrived with 4.2.2 so I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it. I installed TWRP and got CM12 running. I developed a problem with CM12 and when I tried to restore a backup copy that is when things went from bad to worse and TWRP kept saying it could not find partition '0'. So I decided to go ahead and just re-flash stock firmware and went with 4.4 instead of 4.2.2.

Initially I tried RSD and i keep getting a error in red letters that says "sp space is not enough' at the end of system.img. The phone would boot but kept shutting down. Since I had run out of ideas I decided to just go ahead and take the OTA updates in the hopes that would help. So I am now on 4.4.4 and the phone has improved some. now it will stay on longer and will either give me a pop up message that says phone in "cool down mode" but still shuts off eventually. But the phone never actually feels hot at all.

I have tried reflashing several times with RSD and always get the same "sp space is not enough' message after system.img. I also just tried the other option in the OP using fastboot / mfastboot to reflash and I still get the same message saying "sp space is not enough" after system.img. But now the phone is back to either not booting up all the way or it shuts down soon after booting up.

I have seen quite a few complaints online about receiving the "sp space is not enough' message after the system.img flashes but have not found a detailed explanation or solution.

But, while the phone is either in fastboot or connected to the PC on RSD it stays on for as long as it is still connected and does not show any problems until it is disconnected from the PC. If it is on when I disconnect it from the PC it will stay on until I do something like swipe an app from the recent's menu or do something in the system settings./ And I have been monitoring the battery and it appears to be charging and discharging normally and the temperature appears to be normal. That is why I am thinking I have a problem with the software / firmware or possibly a system partition.

I am at a loss and have run out of ideas. I have never had this type of problem before and was hoping that someone may be able to help.

I am stock 4.4.4 (latest update installed).

If I were to try CM 12 and then revert back to stock ROM, is there any risk of getting my bootloader locked again in this process?

My phone did not lock after flashing the stock recovery and taking the updates, you would have to relock it yourself. I can still flash twrp recovery and custom ROM's. I am having other issues with my Droid Maxx. But remember that if you update beyond kitkat 4.4.3 that you will not be able to root the stock kitkat ROM.

I am not quite sure if I understand you completely.
I do not obviously want to get my bootloader locked.
Also, if I switch to CM and then back to stock, I would like to also have root.

Since I am having the latest OTA already installed (and I am also rooted), I would have to get back to 4.4.4 if CM does not work out well for me. (lower versions I suppose won't work since my bootloader is already upgraded)
In that case, can I not flash stock ROM and install SuperSU via TWRP?

BTW: What problems are you facing with CM 12?
