meh oh well ... for now..4.4.4 and 5.0 can not be rooted. You can not load 4.4.2 via Odin or any other software once you upgrade to 4.4.4 or to 5.0
So the answer to your question is there is NO way for you to get root.
None
least the phone was free

There's a newer stock firmware (N900VVRUEOF1) that might work. It's available at http://www.sammobile.com.Need some assistance. A friend said his Note 3 was just charging. He hasn't installed apps lately. He decided to reboot, and upon booting it says "System software not authorized by Verizon...". I've followed the steps in post #1. I've tried OB6. It flashes successfully (with and without the PIT file), but then when it boots, it shows the same. I'm unable to go to recovery mode either. It just says "Recovery Booting...", then it says "Secure Fail: Recovery" and the same "System software not authorized..." message.
Thanks in advance.
You have lost root forever. You can only ODIN back to 4.4.4 and that can not be rooted.I was trying to upgrade my kitkat rooted n900v to one of the newer 5.x roots and didn't notice a comment on the rom about not using it with safestrap. End result was a boot loop so I grabbed the first current OTA I could find to get the phone useable again. It's the 5.0 which took my root out and seems to be rather stubborn unrooting.
So, I'm in the process of trying to chase down an original 4.3 image that will work on this phone. (I've tried one 4.4 and two 4.3 images and they fail on auth checks). Since some of these things are now growing old, a lot of the thread links are dead and I have to get them from throttled pay-to-play websites. Not even knowing if they will work, I'm reluctant to give my CC info to god knows who in god knows where. So I want to try to narrow down the search and have some questions.
First, I see some comments in the 4.3 range about developer vs. non-developer variants of the phone. How do you know if yours is a developer variant? (I picked mine up used)
Second, is there any way to narrow down which Rom I should look for? The hardware is listed as N900V.07
Third, sometimes I see Odex vs De-Odex - huh?
Yeah, I figured that out around 3am last night when I finally learned what the SW aboot error on the screen meant. Needless to say I have a clean, verizon note iii on the latest OTA up for sale! Anyone have a recommendation for a good, rootable phone? lol (any opinions on the ASUS Zenfone 2 ZE551ML?)You have lost root forever. You can only ODIN back to 4.4.4 and that can not be rooted.
