Thank you so much for spending so much time to create the ISO. I have no problem booting from a USB but Windows will not allow the "keep files and program" option because the boot is from an external drive. This of course is normal. To try to get around this problem, I mount the ISO and run the "setup.exe" in the Sources folder, but Windows replies "Windows could not determine the language to use for setup". Have you any thoughts about this and the solution? Thank you.

What drivers/updates enhances?

Great guide!
Alas, my new Yoga Pro seems to be in working order. I'm just wondering if there are updated drivers or such that could improve the usage somehow from the stock-version of the Yoga Book.
Anyone? :)

After update to win 10 1803 problems with cellular connection

First of all thanks to Sandman for his very good work.
I was unable to update from win 10 1607 to 1803; the machine kept trying to install, but always came back to previous version
Finally i found this site and tried to update using the provided iso.
Everything went fine and the machine updated; the only problem is that now i am unable to see my cellular connection. It should be on top of available connection list, but nothing.
I restarted several times, took out the sim and reinserted, but no news.
Can anybody help me on this matter?
Thanks and best regards FIacca

Thank you!

Just wanted to say this worked like a charm when Lenovo's driver site let me down. Much appreciation for taking the many hours to build and share this with the community!

1. I am assuming you are talking about the Halo keyboard control app. Which settings are you changing from the defaults? I always bump the both the vibration and the brightness up one notch. I also lower the timeout down to one minute. I have installed Windows more times in the last six months than I have in the last twenty-five years and I have yet to encounter any issues with any sort of delay or missed characters.

2. Hibernation works by saving all of the contents of ram to the hard drive. The eMMC (hard drive) included with the Yoga Book is not the fastest thing in the world. If the pen light is lit up that means the pc hasn't fully shutdown or hibernated yet. In this state (which is normal due to the speed) you will have to hold the power button for ten seconds to force a shutdown. Next time you try hibernation wait until both the pen light and the charge port lights are off before trying to use hibernation a second time.

3. Make sure the video drivers are properly installed using the device manager. We can go from there after you let me know.

4. You haven't post whether or not you are using the stock charger. If not that is you issue. This charger does in fact charge at 12vdc @ 2 amps. If you no longer have the stock charger you can charge with a good two amp charger with the YB powered off for a quicker charge.

5. As I mentioned before both the keyboard and screen are capacitive. With sleep or hibernation disabled there is enough of a charge for either one to trigger the other. It also affects the screen. I see that you've said that it worked previously but I haven't seen that behavior myself. I will do some playing around in a bit to see if I can make it happen.

EDIT: Once in the past I had this issue. Now it doesn't seem to be an issue as long as you change two settings (see image below). If that doesn't help try wiping the keyboard and screen down real good. There may be something tiny causing phantom touches.
Hello Sand, sorry if I write with a bit of delay but before describing the problem I preferred to try and try again doing different installations. In practice, my most annoying problem is always that of the keyboard. I try to explain better what happens: every now and then (especially when I use an external mouse, so the keyboard stays still for a few minutes) it locks the keyboard and does not write the first letter as soon as I start typing. It almost seems like it goes on stand-by. I have disabled any standby function in the settings, but I have not solved the problem. now I write you from my YB, and as you can see I do not miss a letter if used always ... if now stop writing to go to control with the mouse, as soon as I go back to writing does not beat the first letter. I read a bit around that could be a driver problem, the old drivers were more stable. in fact, I remember that on my factory windows, the halo keyboard control panel was different. How can I find and install a previous driver to try to see if that's the problem ?? it's really a very unpleasant problem

Hi, I answer by myself .. the solution to my problem were just the drivers .. using the 2016 version everything works properly .. I found virtually all the previous drivers for the various compatibility problems of my system, but now I need a hand !! I ask those who have developed this excellent work, to work together to make a version of windows with these old drivers installed ... they are much more stable and need to be updated with the next .. proof is the fact that those who have updated without formatting , works better than those who have done a clean installation .. I would like to create this additional service for greater compatibility ..

Hello and well done for the fantastic work you have acheived. (I read that you don't accept paypal thanks, but if you change your mind tell me!)

I bought a Yoga Book 2 mounths ago but I am blocked because of Bitlocker that I have never activated!! Apparently it is automatic, i did everything to try to get the recovery key, but neither Microsoft nor Lenovo can fix this. One guy at Lenovo told me that a clean windows install could overpass my issues.
Can you confirm this?

If so;

1- Can I use a micro USB (type b) drive for the iso (rather than using an OTG cable)?

2- and finally if this is compatible... I just have to burn the already compiled iso to RUFUS on this micro usb drive and boot on it right ?

3- Will I lose my windows activation? (I never syncronized the key to my account)

Thank you for your time, I really wish to be able to use my tablet but this agressive Bitlocker make me mad! It has not been stolen I have the receipt and everything but Damn It Bitlocker!

Thank you again for all the work that has been done for this tablet. Big respect!

So lil update. I have finally suceeded I used your compiled iso but it failed at 25 % Then i did your tutorial and everything went fine! No more BitLocker and my Windows activation still works Allelhuja!

i just appear to have a screen problem. I experience screen flickering some times then it goes away.
But when i put the brightness to minimum it kind of doesn't like it and it flickers unconstantly the brightness up. Auto brightness have been deactivated of course.

Thank you!

everything works with October update? microsoft is re-releasing it
I've redone it with the November update. Everything seems to be working.

The Your Phone app doesn't work for anyone who uses that. It broke with 1809 I think. So did Photos but they seemed to have fixed that.

Thank you so much + 2Q's

Sandman, thank you so much , you can't imagine (or yes you can) how much time this saved for me.
I thought my Yoga Book was lost because I used a non-compatible (!!) OTG adapter for my USB stick. The boot menu took the name but not the data so it didn't want to boot. I bought a new OTG adapter and everything worked smoothly.

Two questions to you or the board:
* could you (or anyone) briefly comment on whether letting Windows Update do its thing is a risk to get a new uncompatible setup (is Win10 automatically updating to erroneous drivers or non-compatible new Win10 versions)? Should we prevent certain Win10 updates?
* I'm very curious as to how good your stripped builds of Win10 would work. Do you have any old stripped ISO builds laying around to share?

¡It worked!

Sandman, thanks a lot!! My Yoga Book didn't run windows for almost 2 months until I found this forum.
Your tutorial was very easy. I tried to download my own ISO, following all the steps, but I couldn't. I think I made a mistake at step 11 (I didn't understand it). So, I downloaded your pre-builded ISO and it worked great!
I'm really appreciated. I thought my yoga wasn't going to work anymore.
¡¡THANKS!! Greetings from Argentina,
Joseph. :good:

Screen off question

Hi sandman and all! ;)
I have recently bought a yogabook windows version that was a Lenovo refurb. Am really happy with it but did some research to see how I can turn the screen off when taking notes.

This is a standard feature with the android version but it doesn't seem to be available on the Windows version?

Does this W10 refresh have a setting to turn off the display when taking notes or has anyone come up with a way to make this work??

It would be great if we can do it to save battery and also get rid of touching something on the screen when it is folded over... :crying:
It does have the modern power state mode so i think there must be a way..!

Please help out if you can - sorry to dig up and older post but trying to find a way!

Thanks again!! :)

I have the following problem: My Yoga Book crashes at the start and now I am forced to rebuild the operating system. That's why I came across your post. Now I've created the USB stick exactly according to instructions and several times tried to boot from this, but the device can not find the stick in the BIOS. Do I have to consider additional settings in BIOS? Unfortunately, I can not flash BIOS because I have no access to the device - except for access to BIOS.
