Trying to integrate the drivers into the initial release of Windows 10 was a d fail. The ISO would build and boot fine but touch support early in setup would not enable. As the main goal of the guide was to eliminate the need for multiple pieces of hardware to install Windows I count this as a fail.

Hello i just buy a Lenovo Yoga Book 10.1 Android version because i see in many reviews that the performance on the windows version is not great. But i have my issues on the Android because i buy this for drawing purpose maybe some photo editing in PS, and use some programs that there no available on android, with the constant low kicks on the windows version for me there's no other option... But now i see this post, and see that is posible to change the OS from android to W10 and see in the first post that the ISO in the link es a lighter version and improves the performance. If i download the prebuild ISO and install it theres some risk of lose some of the functionality? Thanks.

This guide is of absolutely no use to the Android variant unfortunately. The BIOS's were purposely written different to prevent you from doing just this.

Ok, I'm getting paranoid with the steps so I just want a few clarifications to my concerns. These are my proposed steps:

1. Downloaded your Custom ISO Mega (named Release Build, dated March 20, 2018)
2. Prepared Rufus, create my installation disk
3. Follow "Starting Windows Installation" guide

Some concerns:
1. I'm using Rufus 2.18.1213 - and it doesn't have Large Fat32 (default) in the file system options. Is it safe to just choose Fat32? Funny that we are both using the same Rufus 2.18.1213 and yet they don't look the same. (I can't seem to attach image here in XDA)

2. You said that the Release Build you made already includes the Yoga Book drivers as well as the stripped down Windows 10. It's dated March 20. But you also said that you updated Yoga drivers on April 9. Is it possible that the Release Build you provided in the OP isn't updated?

3. When I reinstall the windows custom build that you made, will that erase my data in C drive?

Thanks for responding. :)

1. Yes you can safely select Fat32 if Rufus doesn't switch to it. I believe I have also used NTFS in the past but that has been a while.

2. I am trying to wait until the new Spring Creators update is released so I can do one good round of testing. The last two driver updates didn't seem to offer any noticeable improvements like the previous 7 drivers.

3. You should be able to do an upgrade install, leaving your files and programs intact. A clean install is always recommended. So depending on how much you have installed it is worth the work if you want the best performance possible. I DO NOT know how installing the stripped build over a full install would work out. I have not tested for this.

I am sorry for the delayed response. I've been quite busy between work and working on the car.

Anyone has a way to activate windows 10 pro? Kmspico isn't working. Plus there's too many malwares :(

TIA.

Windows should activate automatically as long as you install the correct version. Short of installing the correct version or updating the key a KMS activator is your best bet.

A new, fully up to date copy of the setup files and prebuilt ISO have been uploaded! The ISO is based on 1803 and includes both Home and Pro editions. The stripped builds have been removed. The Halo keyboard and Intel graphics drivers have both been updated. The guide has been slightly modified to reflect changes with the new Halo driver.

Wow thanks! This is what I learned when I did your tutorials:

1. Getting the stripped down versions (Pro and Home) felt faster than the original Yoga Book. The only annoying thing is the activation issue. I noticed that both OS where dated Sept 2017. I'm not sure if you uploaded something more recent than that.

2. I finally understand why I can't activate my Windows. My Yoga Book came pre-installed with Windows Home Single Language. Unfortunately, that version isn't available for download form the MS site (only Pro and Home are available).

3. Updating to 1803, Windows reinstalled some bloatwares (which were removed from the stripped down version). It even removed my OneDrive. Now I can't use the OneDrive Desktop App coz I'm being forced to use the Store App.

If it's not too much to ask, in case you have a copy - can you make a Home Single Language version? I wanna see if the activation code I retrieved from BIOS will work. I'm too afraid to get from other sources because of potential malwares and stuff T_T

I'm curious - why did you remove the stripped version? Is there an issue with the new version? :)
As always, thanks for the hard work and for sharing. :)

Use the Media Creation Tool. You select the version later in the install process, after you have entered language and bit type.

Curiosity: In which country do they sell "Home Single Language", I thought the Yoga Book is only sold with Windows Pro?

The original Yoga Book actually shipped with Windows home. Later on they released an upgraded version with Windows Pro and a larger hard drive. I too am curious which model came with the single language version.

1. At the time the build I had posted was the most up to date milestone build.

2. Windows ISO Downloader will download the single language version by selecting the Home/Pro copy.

3. The RTW version of the 1803 update did in fact replace a small handful of programs. The 17133.1 build of the update did not act this way. I have built a new stripped version from the ground-up to test when I get home in the morning. Hopefully it will fare better. Microsoft has definitely changed something.

I had actually planning on removing the stripped version before this issue with the apps not removing. That helped make the decision and so did the fact that someone selling restore DVDs for $0.25 a piece got put in prison by Microsoft!

boot.wim drivers

Hi, thank you so uch for taking the time to do all this!
I am having problems because already at the begining of your indications I do not find any bootwim drivers folder on drivers in ntlite after following exactly the previous steps.
any help?
anyway, what exactly would help bad if I just install the lates win 10 as it is and then I go to internet to download all drivers from lenovo? Whats the difference with your method exactly?
I`ve downloaded the iso directly from microsoft, win 10 pro 64 in english international.

Takes forever (I think my install took over a day with all the later ongoing OS updates - setup mine long before Sandman45654's solution and just remember it was hair-raising).
First install fidgeting (OTG adapter, Memory stick, external Keyboard) as sheer nothing works out of the box (Halo, display, touch, WiFi etc..) Sandman45654's method helps you avoiding all this hassle...

Well, I couldn't get it. As I wrote, the process didn't work the way he explained.
I've tried to download win 10 again from another source but had ****ty internet and just decided to try the normal install.
It was a bit of an hassle, you're right. But not a total nightmare.
But at one point I had the screen asking for Bitdefender and I panicked. Somehow a restart solved it.
Then the screen was a magnified mess.
Then I fell asleep and when I woke up the display was in high contrast but was finally working, all seemed to work better than before sleeping.
Creepy.

Now I'm installing the drivers manually but, it's in most cases impossible.
For example the drivers for the chipset, they have no exe, so to update them I must manually find the right device in device manager. But I find no chipset in the device manager...
Suggestions?

I am getting ready to leave for work in about 15 minutes but I promise I will get back to you when I get home in about 12 hours. Sorry for the wait.
