Mine won't boot. I do everything as it says then when I reboot the device.. it comes back to the fastboot screen with the message 'Flash Failure" in the first line.

I've redone every step and now I can boot my tablet.. It's from verizon now but it won't detect my sdcard and won't update do JB. it says that I don't have enough space on my tablet..

what should I do?

Defaut file manager really don't detect sdcard, but you can use other like ES File Explorer.

About the lack of space, try a full wipe.

Hello friend did the procedure and did not show the CustomerID error, Contact Dealer however MZ609 in this version, could leveling the OTA 4.1.2?
Thus accessed the update zip from recovery and performed the update.

Can't get into fastboot

I've rooted and changed the CID to fake but when I try booting to fastboot I get: -
"CustomerID error Contact dealer"
"Boot to suspend/tcwd mode:dead:0007:0000000000:000000cc"
How do I get past this.?

Defaut file manager really don't detect sdcard, but you can use other like ES File Explorer.

About the lack of space, try a full wipe.

Oh really?? Mine was MZ608 from Brazil and used to detect normally.
How can I transfer files between my sd card conected on my Xoom and my computer?? this is the only one thing that I'm really missing at JB

In my mz607 (Brazil) after installing JB don't detect sdcard on default file manager. I use ES File Explorer instead.

I accidentally forgot to replace it, now I'm downloading OTA imagem and I don't know if it will work.

PS: Device is MZ607 and other users that did so apparently can't install OTA.

Thanks Nossile ~ I did manage to get into ap fastboot by holding power and '+' and '-' keys a couple of times as described ~ you gotta hold them in for 5 seconds or so each time ~ the 'Stage.5' I was at didn't say I needed to do that - it said it would go straight into fastboot

I got my OTA to JellyBean OK and I can now confirm to other interested parties that the speakers still don't work as they should i.e. when in landscape you don't get stereo effect - only the left side speakers are firing - not good for watching videos (

P.S. my device was a MZ607-16

O problema amigo, é que mais a frente aparece algumas mensagens mostrando erro, ignorei-os nas 2 vezes e continuei com o processo, observe o que aparece na tela do Tablet ao tentar liga-lo pela primeira vez, já tentei as ferramentas do próprio tablet: BP tools, Recovery. Como o Tablet descarregou, to esperando ele carregar novamente e irei tirar prints passo a passo, mostrando as mensagens de erro, no momento so posso mostrar uma foto que aparece no tablete ao liga-lo. Primeiramente meu Tablet é o MZ608, na primeira vez deu falha na cópia do Cid bem como ao instalar o cid fake, mesmo o aparelho sendo roteado, com isso eu segui os próximos passos pois imaginei que o cid seria apenas uma cópia da rom, esse erro consiste em copiar normalmente os dados, porem o arquivo não aparece no aparelho, tanto na memória interna como no SD, Irei instalar a room original do MZ608 através do RSD Lite da Motorola, ele instala normal e funciona normalmente também, e então meu próximo passo será, rootea-lo usando o link desse post, pois o root que eu usei foi um fornecido no grupo do Xoom 2 no Facebook, talvez esteja havendo uma incompatibilidade nos roots, porem não entendo, pois funcionava normal aplicativos que usam o root... Novamente irei tentar a copia do CID, quem sabe com essa versão limpa, não dê falhas, daqui a pouco posto aqui resposta se deu certo.

The CID is like a friend of RG apparatus each have their if they did the process correctly there is no reason to be error root.
Each command because you have to wait a bit to install on the tablet.
Ideally it yourself, install the rom from scratch and make root for from the procedure again.
I'm here killing me because I did not everything and gives me this error which all appear on my tablet booted normally as the rom mz609 here have not had to upgrade wifi at home, when I got home and went to update it gives error on update .


O CID é como um RG do aparelho amigo cada um tem o seu, se fez o processo corretamente não há porque de ser erro de root.
Cada comando dado você tem que esperar um pouco para que instale no tablet.
O ideal é isso mesmo, instalar a rom do zero fazer o root e partir para o procedimento novamente.
Eu to aqui me matando pois fiz tudo e nao me dá esse erro que todos aparecem, no meu tablet deu boot normalmente da rom mz609 como aqui nao tem wifi tive que atualizar em casa, quando cheguei em casa e fui atualizar ele dá erro na atualização.

Friend please describe the procedure as you did, tell me something u changed the file or Device_tree.bin permaceu what was in the rom?
Else tell me how commands via data was to install cid.fake please

Hi

Before everything, I need to thank DHD who did the original guide and mtvdeo who give us huge help to the mz607/608 (XOOM 2 8'2 MEDIA EDITION) owners.

Now you need to know :

1. I'm not an Android developper, me, DHD or mtvdeo are not responsible if you brick your device.
2. You have to follow this guide, it's the way I do and I have JB on my Xoom 2 mz607 by now.
3. After the JB update, your tablet will boot differently with an error message.
4. My english is so-so, please tell me if there is something that you don't understand.

First, you need to have a rooted ICS 4.0.4 version. Here is the guide to root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1502589
I assume that you have all the drivers for your tab.

You have to download 3 things :

So we can begin now !!!

1) EXTRACT FILES DOWNLOADED
Extract the VRZ_7.7.1-85_MZ609-31_1FF.xml.zip & the MZ607-XOOM2.zip on the same folder.

/!\ Replace the included device_tree.bin by the one you downloaded

2) INSTALLING APK
Copy/paste the Terminal Emulator.apk on your tab and install it like a normal apk.

3) BACK UP YOUR CID
Open Terminal Emulator on your tab
Write :
su
Your superSU app will ask to give root, select Yes.
cd /dev/block
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk1p15 of=/sdcard/cid.img
exit
exit
Copy the cid.img on your computer to have a back up.

4) CHANGING CID WITH A BLANK ONE
Now take the "fake_cid" file you got with the .zip you downloaded and extracted

Copy it at the root of the tablet disk /sdcard (click here for a big screenshot if needed)
Now open Terminal Emulator on your tab
Write :
su
cat /sdcard/fake_cid > /dev/block/mmcblk1p15
exit
exit

5) GO INTO FASTBOOT MODE
Shutdown your tab.
Press and keep "-" volume key => press Power key => release 2 keys => your tab will boot in fastboot mode.


Now open a command shell on the folder where you have extracted the 2 .zip before (just press Shift on your computer keyboard & right click with your mouse)

Please verify that the path written on the shell is the good path :

Write in it with your computer keyboard :
moto-fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
moto-fastboot flash devtree device_tree.bin
moto-fastboot flash boot boot.img
moto-fastboot flash system system.img
moto-fastboot flash logo.bin logo.bin
moto-fastboot flash cdrom cdrom

moto-fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
moto-fastboot -w
moto-fastboot reboot

6) FIRST BOOT
Your tablet will reboot and stuck at boot screen with warning "CustomerID error, Contact Dealer...".
Press "+" volume key, "-" volume key and "power key" simultaneously.
The screen will goes black. Press the 3 of them another time until you boot on a hidden boot mode menu.

By pressing "-" volume key, you have to go down to "BP Tools" and press "+" volume key to select it.
The tab will boot, you are on the Verizon ICS 4.0.4 for mz609.

7) HOW TO DOWNLOAD 4.1.2 OTA
Configure your tablet like a new (Google account, localization, wifi...) until you can use it like before.
Go to Settings, About Tablet, System Update and... BING ! The OTA is here !
Download it, when it's 100% the tablet will reboot. Let it do the work, it takes several minutes : first you will think that the tab is stuck on the "CustomerID error, Contact Dealer..." but after 1 minute, the recovery will install the OTA file automatically.
After the update, the tablet will reboot. And voila, you are on Jelly Bean 4.1.2



Remember to thanks another time DHD who did the original guide and mtvdeo who greatly helped us to adapt it for the mz607/608 owners. And don't forget to thanks xda developers when they give you joy
