Please, somebody help me... :crying:
Your tablet is bricked. Like mine. You can't downgrade. With mine NONE of the MZ-608 firmwares on the droid developers will flash. Every single one fails when writing 'boot'. I've even got a factory cable in eBay trying to unbrick it, but it didnt work.

Next step, Motorola Service.

Update Success!!

Thanks so much.. I update my us xyboard 8.2 mz607 with your instructions and it work GREAT.. Was a little nervous about doing it, but since I had already went out and bought a new Samsung Note 8, just to have the latest android version, this xyboard as it was on 4.0 was nothing more then a paper weight.. Now since it is on 4.1, it brings a new life to the xyboard...

Root successfull for MZ616

---------- Post added at 02:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:21 AM ----------

Can you guys help me, please? I flashed the JB on a xoom2 MZ616 and didnt like it because 3G was gone; my tablet is brazilian. Since then I have been trying to roll ROM back to any backward version, but I get below error. What can be done to fix it?

----------------------------------------------
C:\Users\ASDRF\Desktop\Xoom2\1.6.0M-272.18_MZ616_p2HW_BlurRegion01_CFC1FF_fastboot_sig ned_latam.xml>fastboot flash boot boot_signed
sending 'boot' (8192 KB)... OKAY [ 0.859s]
writing 'boot'... INFOPreflash validation failure
FAILED (remote: )
----------------------------------------------

The other flashed files go with success, but only boot_signed doesnt go smooth.

Thank you
Dear agentissmith,

I am not sure if you are using the wrong fastboot file? Since the current thread is for MZ-60x rather than your MZ616.

Maybe the instructions on this thread will help.

I own a MZ616 too and am currently trying it out.

possible 3.2.2 Again?

Dear All,

I pass through the above mentioned, everything went well. I did this because my xoom2 lost all of its sounds from the speakers after the ICS update..
I am really mad with this as I tried everything, still no a sound come out from the speakers..

Imagine what, still no sound..

When Bought it, it was with android OS 3.2.2 and the speaker system worked well..

I was wondering would that be possible to reinstall the original OS by using the above mentioned method, just with the different image files (3.2.2)

I look forward to hear about your opinions..

Special thanks to the guys who let this happen, and for all who share their opinions about my mission.. ; ]

I've successfully updated to version 4.0.4 and started download update to 4.1.2

However, I felt asleep and ended the battery. Now I can' t charge anymore. Charge only shows white light for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then it lights down.

Turning on tablet it enter to S.O. but it shuts immediately down.

Don't know what I can do anymore

Starting the process right now (why so slow, Yandex?), anyone can tell me how well is Xposed running? Anyone tried changing the screen DPI to get a top notification bar? The lockscreen is actually better or still the bad one from 4.0.4?

EDIT: the guy who posted a MEGA mirror: thanks, from 2 hours to 7 minutes... really reat :D

EDIT2: Failed so hard...

"Writing 'devtree' ... INFOPreflash validation failure
INFOno such partition
FAILED (remote: )"

I'm getting this on: devtree, boot, cdrom and recovery... can't boot anymore, please, tell me I didn't brick D:

EDIT_final_version: RSD lite didn't help me to roll back to 4.0.4, but managed to get back by flashing all the files, like OP told us to do, tried the 4.1 again but got the same error, weird, running 4.0.4 again, and will try again tomorrow, thanks :3

Like the genius I am I've bricked mine too. I'd followed this guide but then I managed to delete the stock browser whilst trying to install a CyanogenMOD browser (long story) so figured I'd just repeat the steps that I used to flash the US MZ609 firmware. What I'd forgotten is that the first stage is to flash the US MZ609 ICS ROM then do an update to JB meaning I was effectively trying to downgrade. Everything flashes successfully except the boot partition which gives an error that it doesn't exist. Any ideas out there? I tried what I believe to be the original Fastboot file but no luck :( Not sure if it makes any difference but I've been trying to use RSD Lite to fix it rather than manual command line method.

Battery and Temperature

Hello, I successfully flashed my MZ608 ICS to MZ609 JB. Now the tablet is a bit less laggy then before but I faced some huge issues with the battery.

-It takes ages to reach 100% and most of the times it stops a 70%
-Battery drains verry fast: a 1h30min 720p movie is enough to squeez all the juice
-Really often I got an critical warning temperature wich cuts all the tasks and put plaine mode on for a half a minute

I also noticed that if I plug the tablet to the PC while off, it turns on (when I had ICS it showed a white led on but charging off mode). I tried some battery stats whiping apps but nothing changed. I tried some full 100% charge->0% discharge but the situation is getting even worst

I had similar issues. Using the included 1A charger it would stop at 90% but a 1.5A charger would get it to fully charged, I'd just assumed the tablet battery was getting old. Mine also refused to stay switched off when charging which I suspect is linked to the CID error at boot, don't think there's a fix. My battery life wasn't impacted anywhere nearly as badly as yours though.

Yesterday after a full discharge (0% 3x red blink when I try to turn it on) it couldnt charge more than 30% after half a day plugged. I thought I had to buy a new battery so I unplugged the battery pack (easyer than you can ever think, this tab is really disassembly friendly). Pushed the on button for more than 10 sec and replugged the battery. Turned on and... hey! 90% battery (date was reset to 1 gen 1970 ahaha). Now it's regulary discharging. Definetly I think it's a batterystats issue. I wont try to force discharge with games or vids, it's running for more than 20h and still 40% and no temperature warning yet.

I'm stuck in the step 5. My command line appears a message "< waiting for device >" and nothing happens.

Any help? Any fastboot drivers that I need to install in my Windows to recognize the tablet?

Thanks!

Try to change port usb
Thank you for the reply!

Doesn't work. In the Devices (Control Panel), appears an "Fastboot FLEMING S" unrecognized. It is the problem, I think.

EDIT.: the problem was the drivers, that I do not install early. Flash successful to 4.0.4 Verizon! Now I will wait for the OTA update download! Thank you!

I read the whole thread and updated my xoom 2 ME. Many Thanks!

But I have one question about the cid.img. What will happen if I replace the blank one with my backup. Will the error message after tablet start disappear?

Kind regards

Problems in step 6

So, I followed all procedures described by Otalgia in this post, as you did. All ran perfectly until step 6. After selecting 'BP Tools' on boot mode menu, the screen returned to the "CustomerID error, Contact Dealer..." screen for some seconds and suddenly the new logo appeared. Then I thought all is ok... but after 30 min waiting the screen still frozen on this animated logo (some like a red circle). I guess is something wrong, but I have no idea what could be done :S

Could anyone help me?

UPDATE: Nevermind... after reflashing and going again on 'BP Tools' it works :)

A little doubt: I could make an factory reset in this ROM on my "MZ607" (from the default Android option), or I will have an issue during the process or do I have a problem being an "alternative ROM" for my tablet?
