I successfully flashed my MZ608 ICS to MZ609 ICS with this tutorial. But i can't download the OTA Jelly Bean. When i'm checked the update i'm facing this problem "unfortunately motorola services has stopped" and the checking for available updates taking so long and only loading.

Can anyone help me?

First of all thanks for the guide :)
I have kind of the same issue than you, not finding a way to download the JB update OTA.
I also have a hard time understanding how to get out of the CID errors loop
when I boot, I get the CID error. Sometimes letting it this way will go on after like ~1 min wait and the boot will continue
Sometimes letting it like this doesn't do anything. I then do the hidden menu trick to go back to BP tools, choose bp tools and the tablet boots fine.

Does it mean I will have to do this trick everytime I want to switch on the tablet ?!
Also, any idea / workaround to have this 4.2 update I can't grab because of that "motorola server" error ?

Thanks :)

Hi guys,

I got stuck on step 6 with beautiful fireball/eye ;)
What can I do with it? Any ideas? Everything was fine until this step.

I recorder a short movie to show what the problem is. It continues to show this fireball/eye until battery is dead...

Help

Hi, I finnaly took courage to install the update on my xoom 2 ME. Everything went fine. I managed to flash all the files while rebooting gave me the error. I choosed the BP option and it appear the error again but it started after some time. Took a lot in the activation process and I noticed that a 3g icon appear (and mine is not the 3g edition) but no problem.
After I loged in to google and set up all thing tried the OTA update. It detects the update but after hiting download it said that there is no free space to download the update. I checjed the space and I have 11gb free. I tried on fastboot again to make the -w command to whipe cache but after the setup again no luck still the same no space to download the update.
Can someone please help me how to resolve this please? :(

I tell you in 10 minutes . Now it just finished the download process and is stuck in the customID error....now it passed and is installing.
Mine was slow has hell to. But the installation process was easy following the fantastic tutorial. Let's hope everything will be ok after.

Xoom2 ME - CID restore

First of all - I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DEVICE. DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU ARE INEXPERIENCED!
Second - be sure you have all drivers (Motorola, ADB, etc.).

If someone has stupid idea to replace fake CID back to oryginal CID, like I have had - DON'T!

Ok, there is no more "customer ID error" on start, but in my case I have got an error on cdrom partition and my device was bricked:

Invalid Flash Mode (S) (Boot failure)
0A.74 (sha-db24cb6, 2012-04-25 10:52:50)
eMMC Info: Size 16G

Device is LOCKED. Status code 0

Invalid CG OTV (CG: cdrom): Invalid SP data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: cdrom, status: 0X0056)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: cdrom

I tried re-replace CID again to fakeCID, but it stated something like Preflash validation failure. No such partition.
Grrrr...

The main problem was find proper files compatible with my device - Xoom2 ME (geniune MZ608, but after update to 4.1.2 Jelly Bean shows MZ609).
I have download a lot of stuff and attempt many files and finally found!:D

Here is a solution for Xoom2 ME (MZ608/MZ609 4.1.2):

Download Xoom2 ME.rar
Unpack it and use fastboot:

fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash cid cid.img

If flashing ok, follow OlegOdessa method, but not from beginning!
Start from here:

3. reset PAD (volume + and - and Power)
4. go to stock recovery
5. this is recovery with sideload
select - apply update from ADB
6. Windows PC

code to flash update:

cmd
cd c:\Android
adb devices
adb sideload c:\Android\Blur_Version.12.11.31.MZ609.Verizon.en. US.zip

process 10-15 min
after command`s will begin file upload to PAD
cheking files
chekin system befor update
patching and flashing

after flash - restart system and all OK

If you want root your Xoom2, I recommend Saferoot - simple and good method, and works perfect. :D

Keep on mind, that it be stuck on "Trying to disable Knox" for about 5 minutes and be patient - everything should be allright!

Krystian

Hi guys, I need help !
Trying to unbrick my pad with this manual (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47950732&postcount=779), but I don't understand how to enter point 4 (go to stock recovery).

3. reset PAD (volume + and - and Power)
4. go to stock recovery
5. this is recovery with sideload
select - apply update from ADB
6. Windows PC

I used RSD 5.6, all steps OK, green android and flash process OK, but what next ?
I can select only "recovery", selected this option I have "CustomerID error..." with moto logo, and after there is only green robot with red exclamation alert. How to enter in recovery with sideload ?

If I remember rightly, once you see the green android and red exclamation mark it's just a matter of persistently trying combinations of volume up, down and power to access recovery. I don't think I ever identified which was the right combination, just takes a little persistence.

Thx chrisinleedsuk, "ADB" really was there ;)

I tried some combinations (even don't know how) and succesful access there ;)
But one more question..., is that right, that after adb sideload of that clean rom (Blur_Version.12.11.31.MZ609.Verizon.en. US.zip) there still is a "CustomerID error, Contact dealer..." message when booting ?

btw - I have backed my cid.img (from original mz608 and ver.4.0.4) - is this usable anyway ?

When you see the green android with red exclamation mark, press power + volume up. That should get you into recovery.

And I noticed few issues - can you confirm ?

1. power led does not work
2. when tab switched-off, there is also no power level indicator visible, when charging (on 4.0.4 there was batterry icon level floatin'g)
3. when tab switched-off (power unpluged), plugging in power adapter tab runs automaticaly to on

btw - what is a difference between rooting by kingo and by vroot or by saferoot recomendeed here ?
p/s I have backed my cid.img (from original mz608 and ver.4.0.4) - is this usable anyway ?
