Bear with me, I will open a new thread and/or edit OP with video and clear instructions asap!
edit: I now have the unlock.bin for my device, so i will document the whole process from oem locked phone, backup partitions, unlock and relock.

Lol! Everything is public already. If you check my post, all details are there... I'm still alive so LG hitmen are not so efficient :D

@blake_spector will provide a detailed step by step post, but if you're in a hurry and know what you're doing, you should be able to use the info I posted.
It's ok. All I want to do is unlock my bootloader, not relock. Mostly because I can't unlock it in the first place. Still waiting on that unlock method in the other thread...

Sorry for the delay, was just a bit busy. Also it is a little bit of work to make things neat and pretty, but the guide is almost ready!

@LaughingCarrot - It includes showing how to unlock the bootloader using the official LG method via unlock.bin - if your device doesn't support that method i'm afraid the guide won't be very useful to you anyways.

As Blake said, I'm afraid you won't be able to unlock bootloader anyway, unless someone wants to publish his own partitions for you to flash and his unlock.bin file, then it will work

Since unlock.bin and the pre-unlock backup partitions are somewhat bound to the IMEI and Device-ID I'm not sure if that's something one should make available for public download . . .
I would really like to try those shenanigans just for the sake of it . . . I checked local classified ads, but used G4s are still ~180 EUR around here. That's sadly a bit too much for a "toy".

Obviously you are unable to unlock the bootloader with any other unlock.bin that is not the exact "device-associated" (IMEI, ID) file generated by LG!
However, it would be quite interesting to find out what happens if you flash the pre-unlock misc, persistent and drm partitions to another already unlocked phone . . .

Even then i dont think so. Unlock.bin is for specific device with imei and device id so my unlock.bin simply wont work in any other devices.

Exactly that's why that other guy who wanted the bounty is quiet now. I wouldn't like to publish my partitions to public, but maybe someone would pay for it and someone would be that 'kind' enough to share them that way.

Of course it would... It's like replacing eMMC...

There will not work. I was replacing the motherboard under warranty but before that I wrote device_id old motherboard and I had downloaded unlock.bin who was not able to unlock the bootloader on the new one so what are we talking about.

because they might have changed LG serial or IMEI?

What are you talking about. I give you a clear prove that my unlock.bin wil not work on your device. Every unlock.bin is unique and can be use only for specific device.

I'm afraid things aren't as simple as that. Actually we are quite lucky that simply flashing cust/misc/drm allows to revert the bootloader state.

I was replacing the motherboard under warranty but before that I wrote device_id old motherboard and I had downloaded unlock.bin who was not able to unlock the bootloader on the new one.

Fun fact, they replaced my motherboard under warranty - but i still have the same IMEI.
Sadly i don't have before and after Device-ID/unlock.bin to compare . . .

My imei is the same . But device_id was changed and i wasnt able to unlock bootloader. I had to write email to lg developers to update their database.

I see. Well thx, good to know!

Just a brief reminder, this thread (and the upcoming step-by-step guide) is not and will not be related to unlocking bootloader unofficially, does not apply to any other device than H815EUR!
It's merely meant for the handful of ppl like me, that are already able to unlock the bootloader via official method - and
A) simply want to keep a safety backdoor open concerning warranty when things go south *cough ILAPO *cough (which isn't even neccessarily mandatory, as ppl seem to get their phones repaired regardless)
also B) much more importantly, have fun and fool around with this stuff, perhaps even learn a thing or two.

PS: regarding "unlock.bin" from another device, needless to repeat that this will not work . . . - give this a try!
Take any file the size of 1024 bytes (same size as unlock.bin, which by the way has data only up to 0x00000114, from there its just zero . . . so create one with notepad or hexeditor) and "fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin" . . . given the fact it surely only sais OKAY and writes unlock if it gets the unique data/file it expects, an "unlock.bin" from another device will fail as any other random 1024 bytes of data.

[ . . . ] during unlock, the bootloader checks if the unlock.bin is valid by trying to decrypt it with LG public key. If it is able to decrypt it, it ensures that the unlock.bin has been encrypted using LG private key and is coming from LG servers, it will then assume that it should operate unlocked.
