Ah, well good that TWRP now works. On one hand that means I wasted my evening yesterday, on the other, the process of getting it rooted is much simpler for you guys now. And it means I don't have to write a guide, an idea I wasn't particularly fond of anyway ;)
Grea Man .

Your hard work always made our world better !!!

You Rocks !!!

Proof I'm phone-icidal and that @jcadduono and @Chainfire kept my V20 alive anyway. Fingerprints included, because ily XDA.

Little did you know, I had a little SuperSU guide all ready to go by the time I found out my phone was sitting on the TWRP screen in the next room :D

I feel like an idiot for this but I've been up literally all night trying to figure this out and I just can't get it. I tried following the guide line by line but the .c extension wasn't included in pushing the files so I pushed one with and one without. I can't get past "$ ./dirtycow /system/bin/applypatch recowvery-applypatch" on the shell.

If anyone could give me some really basic 1-2-3 steps I would appreciate this because I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

of course it does! :)

Let me know how it goes! I'm gonna try a couple other things and see what works. Have no idea why it isn't.
Still having issues with adb? I found the problem after pulling all my hair out, so let me know if anyone is still having issues detecting the phone once in the bootloader, like I was... ( Once in FASTBOOT, sorry )

For the life of me I can't figure out what I need to do past opening a terminal window inside the folder I downloaded. I do not know where these repo folders are and I've spent the past hour installing various things hoping I can figure it out but I'm lost.

Any chance someone could provide me with an easier explanation as to what the first initial steps are. I think my issue is with the setup.
I'm gonna be honest man, you need to watch some YouTube videos and read, read, read, and then read more. Cause you are about to make some mistakes if you cannot even get adb setup? Just do a little research in Google and type in EXACTLY what you are having trouble with and I can guarantee a million others had that same issue and then you can research from there, but unfortunately I don't even know where to start and I hate to start telling you things that are wrong and especially when you and me may not even be on the same page! I would love to tell you all of the right answers but you are probably gonna have to learn the hard way, that's how I learned... Good luck man!

If there was anything to reference I would search it. I got a lot further but it stops here: https://i.sli.mg/Ie0s1W.png

I when i reboot to recover it says "no command" with a dead android.

The OP's instructions are clear and straightforward. If you are having trouble understanding them, stop and do some independent study before you attempt this procedure. Simply put, you shouldn't be doing this if you don't understand the process.

This is not a Samsung. If you enter the wrong command you will be sending your phone in to get it unbricked.

I'm sorry man, see I thought you were at a whole different part of the process and that you didn't even have the drivers installed yet... I'm sure there will be a nice little video/tutorial that will put this into a simpler method , or even a kit for the folks that want to do it with a few button presses. I know how many people around here LOVE those toolkits! LOL

BTW: I was not trying to belittle you in ANY way, just didn't know where u were having issues. Good luck
