Hi all,

Yesterday I got 2 H990DS and I found that not 5ghzs wifi were viewable. After reviewing a couple of trends like this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/help/how-to-enable-5ghz-wifi-h990ds-t3579254 i found that some user experienced same issues but no really root cause was determined. So after digging a little bit i found it. It looks like this phone is intended to be only for China (not global or international as claimed) and as per wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels#5_GHz_.28802.11a.2Fh.2Fj.2Fn.2Fac.29 only channels from 36 to 64 are the only approved.

Being this the proved cause, anyone has any idea how to override this? At this point the only solution for me was to change the router wifi channels to any of those within range.

Thanks!

Is wired... I bought a f800l and also it doesnt support 5g wifi... Is ridiculous.... But after i rooted and flashed a custom rom... The problem is gone. So i can confirm is not hardware issue.

UPDATE:

I have no idea what happened but all of the sudden higher ranges showed up! Perhaps using a new SIM Card unblocked it?
