They removed Android settings couple versions ago but you can still enable ADB and connect to your head unit with Easy Fire Tools app and sideload third-party apps.
Enable ADB 1. Remove your SD card from your head unit and insert it into your computer 2. Go to BIN / G40 3. Create a copy of G40 file and rename it to G40.org 4. Right-click on the original G40 file and go to 7-Zip / Open archive 5. Drag and drop the modified libgnustl_shared.so file into the archive to replace the original one https://www.file-upload.net/download-14758010/libgnustl_shared.so.html 6. Close 7-Zip 7. Open Navi_Version.txt file from BIN / G40 and increment the Navi version by +1 from STD5.HMC.KMC.211108.c22f9b6 to STD5.HMC.KMC.211109.c22f9b6 8. Remove the SD card from your computer and put it back into your head unit 9. Head unit will restart and another Engineering Mode will appear 10. Choose ADB Connect Type and click on Ethernet 11. Go back, hit Home icon in the top left corner, remove the SD card for your head unit and insert it into your computer once again 12. Go to BIN / G40 13. Remove the modified G40 file and rename the copy you’ve done previously from G40.org back to G40 14. Open Navi_Version.txt file and increment the Navi version by +1 once again from STD5.HMC.KMC.211109.c22f9b6 to STD5.HMC.KMC.211110.c22f9b6 15. You can now remove the SD card from your computer and put it back into your head unit 16. Head unit will restart and everything will work as before
This works for Kia for 211027 version (for Hyundai you need to edit G45 file instead of G40). For version 210111 there is a sightly different method. Not sure if there are any other methods for older versions - probably yes but I'm not aware of them.
Here you can see how to sideload the third-party apps with Easy Fire Tools:
Worth mentioning I'm on 211029Really trying to be persistent with this, so apologies... Managed the instructions above.
Quick question: Do you side load using Easy tools between steps 11 & 12?
I can turn on ADB using ethernet. It's a stable IP connection, but Easy tools reports
ADB ports don't appear to be open the headunit... only TCP port open is 5000.
platform-tools % ./adb connect 192.168.2.180:5555
failed to connect to '192.168.2.180:5555': Connection refused
platform-tools % sudo nmap -sT -p- 192.168.2.180

Nothing to do with head unit. They did it like this. I don't know what method they do it, but they will definitely have to remove the screen from the car. Maybe they connect adb through pinout of AVN. Anyone have any ideas. This is a 10.25 inch KIA monitor.
Hello everybody,Hi All,
I've just tried to enter the engineering mode in my Kia ceed PHEV MY22 using the procedure:
<Setup>, <General>, <System Info>
set volume using left knob to level 0, then to level 7, press the right knob, set volume to level 3, press the right knob, set volume to level 1 and press the right knob
Used code: 0652 (enginering mode)
Used code: 2400 (Dealer mode)
This all worked like a charm for the system software version with build date: 2021-08-09
In this I found there is also WiFi module (BCM89359) available in my 10.5' screen but it's not enabled.
At the moment there are several setting in the WiFi menu for which I don't know the correct values so I'm not able to activate it.
I hope Kia soon will sent out an update so I can use Android Auto wireless.
Been looking for a while, I think this route method needs adapting or is now closed out by software update. The instructions apply well, all screen appear, etc. But just not getting any ports open with which in can open an Adb session. Can't find anything which allows me to open ports, etc.Not sure why you cannot connect. In my case I've tried on 210111 and 211027 and it worked on both versions. First you do the map trick (replacing the lib file) to invoke the ctstest menu and enable adb. Once adb is enabled, you turn on hotspot on your android phone and connect the head unit to this hot spot. Then you need to find out what's the ip address of your head unit and enter this ip address in Easy Fire Tools and then connect. It worked on my Compact Gen5. If you have Standard Gen5 or Gen5 Wide you might need to somehow enable the 5555 port. I've seen it mentioned on some other forum but not sure where exactly.

0652There are 2 Modes or 2 Passwords Keypads:
1. This one is "Engineering Mode" and I figured out the Password (2702):
2. This one I think it is "Dealer Mode" but I'm not sure yet because I couldn't figure out the password that's why I need your help guys:
Just purchased a 2022 Telluride SX with the wide screen. Been reading this thread and noticing no one has found a way to get into engineering mode for these newer firmware, right?
I would just like to side load some apps and be able to run them from the Kia main menu.
If for some reason I am incorrect in that there’s no way to side load these newer widescreens then please do let me know. It’s Likely I may have scanned across a post or something that had that info.
Thanks!
Hi guys,
On my Tucson (2018 - AA) I can only access the engineering mode where I don't...
Now that we can sideload apps, is there any way to let Android auto work wirelessly?
