hey guys so im on a kia forte 2023. how would i go into android settings on that? or if anything can someone give me a full explanation on how to install youtube on my car where it wont have a network problem starting from step 1? probably an alternative youtube app. The first post of this thread is very outdated for my car.

Hello, first of all, activate Bluetooth on your smartphone, then connect it to car:

Infotainment_manual_connecting

As soon as it connects, it should also offer you to connect Android Auto / iOS CarPlay.

BTW, do you have Android version 10 or above?

Also, do watch both screens, infotainment and smartphone, and give permissions when asked on smartphone (access to contacts, call log, location etc...)

Hello. I have a Tucson 2020 non-nav model. I tried this method: https://github.com/rgerganov/gen5fw

But head radio does not recognise update files. It can read usb flash drive but not the update files. Any ideas?

Head Unit only can Wireless Apple Carplay but
cannot use Apple CarPlay Wire Mode ( I need to use Wire Apple Carplay because want to use Android Box )

I already try to Access to Engineering Mode on SW Info Menu but still cant go in because dont have the right 4 Digits Password

Please guide me how to ... ?

In the latest firmware versions, the standard Android menu does not open. It is not in the firmware.
How to change the language? There are only two languages in the system - Korean and English.
I tested: Languages2, MoreLangs2, Custom Local, but after the restart, the language on the on-board computer returns to Korean.

I have already gone through this thread twice (and a lot of other clips on Youtube) but I have not managed to access the Engineering menu. In addition, I have already received three failed attempt warnings from the HU system ( which I don't know if they reset). I want to access this cryptic Engineering mode just to enable (if possible) Wireless AA. I usually don't like to bother but this time I seem to be stuck. Some help , with the correct procedure and the right passwords, would be welcome

You can try any Chinese device that can do this. A lot of them. I haven't tested.

Hello everyone I’m from Kazakhstan, I’ve successfully enter eng.mode on Hyundai Santa Fe 2016 (USA), Hyundai Sonata 2018 (USA), KIA Optima JF 2018 (USA).

So what you need to do go to
Setup-System info-Storage just tap 5 times on the left side corner and 1 time on the right side corner.

All done. After that you’re in the eng.mode.
Since the whole system except for the some new models from 2020 it runs Android.
I’ve also successfully installed thru ADB “Morelocale.Morelangs2 APK” in order to set Russian language on the system but don’t know how to launch it through ADB command still working on it.

In order to turn on ADB go through the list of functions that are on the Eng.mode and find “ADB Usb mode” or something and turn it on, then connect USB
Male-A-Male-a cable to the laptop and to the usb plug in the car.

Download HUAWEI and Honor Multi tools or any other program that allows to work with the ADB terminal. So, basically ADB allows you to install third-party apps to the car.
I wish you all good luck on that, and I would grateful if anyone of you finds the way to launch the installed apps on the car system through ADB.

(P.S. Does anyone know what’s the password for the Eng.mode on latest KIA/Hyundai firmware update that come in 2022?)

Oleg, given you are the guru of all, this question is for you if you would please take the time.

I imported a 2019 kia cadenza sxl from USA to dubai, through the setting>navigation I can choose the speed displayed between miles and km, but it does not actually change in the cluster, my map is also stuck at the last location the car was last active in, California, in my own assumptions, i think because the car is not functioning with the gps the speed units have proven to be null, there are no controls from the cluster, just the head unit.

I dug around on the kia navigation update program, and when I compared both firmwares provided by the USA version and Middle East "MES", (attachments below), they both use the same format, which is YG19****STD_H. The USA file was around 20gb and the middle east was 7gb, so I downloaded the MES version onto the SD card, backed up my USA version and put it in the car but to no avail, is there a way around this? A force update or something?

Worth mentioning, I can access dealer options through the volume sequence and engineering mode through tapping 5 left to update and once to the right.

And if others have input on the matter please dont be shy to share in, thank you all for your efforts in advance.
