To give a small update, I have been working privately with legofan623 and we have gotten the console fully enabled. We are looking into everything and will announce instructions when we are ready.
Well there goes that XD XD XD*UPDATE*
Console is WORKING!
Set con_enable to 1 in "config.cfg" and bind any button to "toggleconsole"
HUGE thanks to r3pwn for figuring this out.
Will this also work ? http://axeetech.com/2013/07/15/how-to-enter-cheat-codes-in-gta-vice-city-for-android/#.U-yH0vl_sbwWell there goes that XD XD XD
Just a little update: You need an external keyboard to actually use the console.
It looks like the app isn't in the play store anymore. Will this also work ? http://axeetech.com/2013/07/15/how-to-enter-cheat-codes-in-gta-vice-city-for-android/#.U-yH0vl_sbw
The GameKeyboard app let's u type ontop of the screen, this works in GTA so maybe also in portal ?![]()
Where is the config file stored for portal ? couldn't find it quick, I have both games so I could take a look for ya, and yes I'm rootedIt looks like the app isn't in the play store anymore.
If I got $10 in donations to my PayPal account, I would happily buy Half-Life 2 to look at it (I only have Portal now).
For Portal, its in /data/data/com.nvidia.valvesoftware.portal/files/portal/cfgWhere is the config file stored for portal ? couldn't find it quick, I have both games so I could take a look for ya, and yes I'm rooted![]()
bind "Y_BUTTON" "toggleconsole"
con_enable "0"
con_enable "1"
I made those changes in HL2. I have used a bluetooth keyboard and a usb keyboard. I get the console to come up with the ~ but I cannot type in the console. I can press the ~ and make it go away again also. For Portal, its in /data/data/com.nvidia.valvesoftware.portal/files/portal/cfg
I know it will work in Half-Life 2 but I was just saying for enabling the bonus maps/challenges (or whatever it is for HL2).
EDIT: I added a line that said
And scroll down in that same file until you seeCode:bind "Y_BUTTON" "toggleconsole"
and change it toCode:con_enable "0"
Code:con_enable "1"
Yeah, we're aware of the console input not working, but at least we got it to appear! There's tons of other stuff we're working on (see one or two posts back) and trying to fix the console is definitely one of those.I made those changes in HL2. Cool. Sorry did not read that it would appear but not work. Nice to hear there is progress.Yeah, we're aware of the console input not working, but at least we got it to appear! It's fine. We figured it out ourselves, but I guess we forgot to put it here.Cool. Sorry did not read that it would appear but not work. Nice to hear there is progress.
It's funny that you would ask because I was thinking about this to myself a few minutes ago. Currently, it is not possible. We are stumbling over issues with MultiPlayer, but we want you to know that we are working hard on it and everything else is progressing well!Hey do you think that team fortress 2 could be ported to the shield and could actually run at a decent framerate? If it is, do you think that it would use the same severs as pc or would it use a custom server for the shield, especially since pc might have the advantage of sensitivity and whatnot
I can't say I haven't thought about it too, but we're still pretty far away from TF2. If we ever get a multiplayer game working it would probably be Half Life 2 Deathmatch or Counter Strike Source. If we get a very experienced Source developer to join us, TF2 on Shield would definitely become more than an idea. But don't expect too much as of right now.Hey do you think that team fortress 2 could be ported to the shield and could actually run at a decent framerate? Unfortunately it looks like Half-Life 2 and Portal don't have this folder, but thanks for the info.you can also find some usefull modifyable values under data/data/whatever app/shared prefs, this is especially usefull for dead trigger ultra graphics on non tegra devices, and if you extracted the amazing frog from your ouya, you can have some free costumes as well!, dot know if this works on portal or hl, because I don't have them
