So I set it up and have been playing with it for about an hour now. The software is so smooth, butter!! It feels great in the hand. The back is so much better now. Not as slippery as the OG XL. Definitely not a fingerprint magnet. The display is great. I'm not sure why some people are having issues. If you turn off the auto brightness and set it to about 60% you're set. Increase and decrease when needed. The bezels are small. I have a Note 8 so I'm use to the small bezels. These are just as good. The sides aren't as curved as the N8, but I actually think it's going to be better. Typing and touch sensitivity sometimes gets messed up with the N8 because of the curved display. The front facing speakers are best I've heard on a phone in a while. Remember it's just a phone, so your expectation shouldn't be real high. Lol. Love they are front facing. I can actually hold my device in landscape to watch a video and not have to worry about covering up the speaker.

I haven't used the camera or can't comment on the battery. I'll edit this tomorrow to include a little more.

No issue, but there is a blue tint when looking from different angles. Which is not an issue for me. Otherwise it is a nice display.

Great review. The screen issue has been blowing WAY out. I went to my local Verizon to check it out & it was SWEET. Screen is way better than my Nexus 6P. It was bright & sharp. Reviewers & Critics are going to find something wrong with everything that's there job. This phone is going to be a MONSTER period. Can't wait till I get mine

I can't even tell a difference with it on or off. My screen seems quite warm and doesn't get very bright. I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews on the internet

how strong it is recognizable?
This is my only issue regarding the new pixel 2 xl.
Like if the phone is laying down on the table in front of you? How is it in panorama mode? Only visible on white screen or also by watching a video?

It is from the polarizer.

It is noticeable when lying on a table in front of you, and if you turn it off axis. Only noticeable when there is white.

did not notice it while watching a few short videos.

I just tested in the kitchen with 2 pairs of polarized sunglasses and the P2XL screen is great. There are no weird dark spots or rainbow colors you get sometimes looking at devices, it pretty much was normal. Tested side by side to my wife's Pixel original, new phone was much better.

It's special coated so that it's easier to see when wearing sunglasses. I believe they mentioned it in the keynote.

All the videos ive seen point to the speakers not being that loud and sounding almost muffled? Its been tested against devcies that should get killed by the sound from the XL 2 but dont.
