I had to send the tablet to the service because it was not charging and functioning at all. And because I had 3 years of warranty I used only root without unlocking the bootloader. And I did right because it was not possible to turn it on to get it back to the default state. And according to the documents they had to replace motherboard.

So just my five cents about the bootloader, warranty etc. Be careful what you are doing :)

I tend to agree with you, I rooted mine but never unlocked the bootloader. Mine could not be charged a few months back and Sony gave me a new replacement after they examined it for a week or so.

i have the bootloader unlocked, my screen was full of dead pixels, i sended it back and replaced the whole module, put a newer firmware, kept the root files for me, ignored the bootloader and send it back brand new, they charged nothing!

But i'm in europe and they are force to provide me hardware support, also isn't this the wrong section?
