Hey all.
I've recently noticed that none of my keyboards vibrate when I press a key. Along with that, the stock Sony KB doesn't seem to have the option to turn it on/off in the settings.

Did Sony disable vibration in the 3.2.1 update or is my Tablet borked?

Guys I distinctly recall haptic working on the demo tablet in Singapore (Bugis Junction Sony Store). It's not working on my tab currently. I did however update the firmware immediately after purchase sony that could be it?...

haptic feedback definitely felt first and last time

I posted this issue on the Sony community thread today:

"Vibration mode on the non-3G Sony Tablet S (SGPT111GB)
Topic started on 10-Jan-2012 23:27
in Sony Tablet
I discovered something today, Sony Tablet S (SGPT111GB) which is a non-3G version has the ability to vibrate in applications that can use this option.
I was looking for a alternative to the built-in TV remote control app and I came across "BlueIR" in the android market (free). unfortunately it's not suitable for me in the UK but whilst playing with the pre-installed virgin media cable box profile low and behold each time I pressed any of the software remote control buttons, anywhere onscreen, I received a vibrate/haptic feedback confirmation which I checked in the options was available.
The strange thing is though once I played with it a little more vibration/haptic stopped and I couldn't get it back again or test it in the settings options.
Anyway just wanted to share and to see if anybody else got this functionality working in their Sony tablet S, non-3G obviously, as I was unaware this tablet had this functionality?"

Still early days for an answer on the Sony community forum but as I'm waiting to see if anybody else is having this issue so when I read this post on this thread I thought it best that chime in here.

UPDATE:
having slept on this issue I decided to uninstall "BlueIR" and reinstall it to see if I could replicate the haptic feedback but had no success so make of that what you will but I definitely have the functionality on the first install so we need to see if there is a haptic motor in the hardware of any of the Sony Tablet S models.
I'll have a check on Google for any of the tear down videos and report back.

UPDATE#2:
I've sent a e-mail to the developer of "BlueIR universal remote for android" to see if he can shed any light on this functionality which I of course will update here if and when I get a reply.

trouble finding "teardown reviews" that don't repeat Tech Republic

Most of the blogging sites Google brings up seem to be just repeating the teardown on Tech Republic.com website so I've left a question with "Bill Detwiler , Head Technology Editor of TechRepublic", but as it was September 2011 when the teardown was done we will have to see if the article is still being monitored.

Anyone else got suggestions?
