So, I have come into possession of a 2012 Kindle Fire 2 with an interesting story. My friend, the original owner (and as you shall find out, a complete n00b) decided to flash some ROMs and fool around with KFU (yes, the one that's NOT meant for KF2). And while panicking, he ended up booting in fastboot and erasing almost everything he saw here:

So as a result, I have on my hands a Kindle Fire 2 with no bootloader, no recovery, no system, no cache. At this point of time, I'm trying to figure out whether there is any hope for the device if I use the shorting method and try and bring it to OMAP USBBOOT.

Suggestions are highly welcome.

Try this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011126 Power off Kindle if able. Open the tool and select option 1 to enable fastboot. A question will come up asking if your tablet is powered off or on. Select the appropriate option. If there is any hope left, this would be it. Once in fast boot, select option 2 I believe which is install SuperSU and recover image. Follow all steps in that thread. If files don't download, do a Google search for the exact names. I used this tool many of times so I know it works if you aren't perma bricked.
