I hope you are saying the truth. my brother just bought poco m3, after reboot it does not boot. the bad thing is I told my younger brother to reboot and see what happens and the phone had 89% charge left. now I have to wait for 4-5 days for the phone to discharge itself.
disassemble the phone (youtube).
remove battery.
disconnect cameras.
just make cold or warm whole mainboard
then replug battery. boot phone with 5v charger
use it without powering off or reboot manually till i tell you exactly capacitor that is short. everyone can do this fix in home. trust me bro 😉

Thanks @sarabbafrani your steps work, Is it permanent fix or a firmware update can fix this ?
no
its hardware issue that prevents normal boot.
firmware update or change in software can not fix at all...
maybe 1% if company can disable edl mode from Qualcomm cpu in your phone.

its not permanent fix
temperature just helps you to get out of emergency download mode (EDL) once

POCO M3
How did you manage to get it boot up? Please share.
Make sure the battery fully drained, the only to fully drain the battery was to jammed something on the power button,my method was using rubberband and que tip. This works too when you desperately need to reboot your phone but make sure to only use this when your battery at 1%,so it takes about 10 minutes to drain the battery. How to know your phone has fully drain?,its when you plug the charger your phone will vibrate and show a big battery logo, now wait until its get to 1%,try push power button like normal to boot the phone,it may show the poco logo and then it will go black screen again but dont worry,if this happen just drain the battery again the try to plugs in charger again, wait for vibrate and battery logo again, but dont powet on like before because the phone would auto boot on its own,if that happen then your phone would boot like normal and you do it right. It may takes 2 or 3 retry to works,if it fail to work then there no other fix other than opening up the phone and try the unplug battery and plug charger while holding power then plug the battery again and this method wont work if the phone has charge in the battery.Thats all that I can share, only these method works for me.I cant guarantee it will work for others but Im just sharing just in case it helps.

Allo everyone, forgive me bad english.
from start,
1, to get your poco m3 to work, only two ways, oppening and shock de battery as already explaind here, our let the battery drain. ALL OF THIS IS JUST TEMPORARY IT DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM
2. this fix is only temporary till next time your reboot.
3. forget hardware problems IT'S NOT HARDWARE PROBLEM.
4. it's just a big bug,
SOLUCION
As soon as get your fone to work go to updates, there will be an update to miui 12.5 (android 11 based) a 2,5GB file update it, it will go black again, let it be. after 3 hours try to fastboot it, power botton and vol -
if it dosen't work, do the shock battery.
it will fastboot.
it will freeze in fastboot. press power button 10 seconds and it boots
now you have android 11 (hugly basterd) and MIUI 12.5.
you can reboot it safelly for the final test.
FIXED

My M3 was working perfectly. I put it to restart and then it didn't turn on anymore. It is now only recognized as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" on Windows. I opened the phone and with some magical combination (remove/connect flat cables from the battery and display, connect the USB cable, press volume keys and short the test points) it started in fastboot. So I was able to flash the "fastboot ROM". Unfortunately, on the next boot it still does not turn on normally. Has anyone succeeded in repairing the Poco M3? In Mi Flash is requested an authenticated account to flash through it, is it worth paying someone to provide the account? Does anyone have the contact of someone who makes cheap? Any help is welcome, thank you!

there is an update in size of 2.5GB but it is not android 11 or miui 12.5 for me. the update version is 12.0.10 and I afraid to update it. I can not risk it yet at least. if someone knows please tell me how can I unlock the bootloader in this f**ked up situation? even if I want to go into fastboot mod to unlock the bootloader it will not turn on. someone on this thread said that it is not a software problem, he/she is using a custom rom despite that the deadboot problem still remains.

Try clicking in search updates and in the top right corner there is 3 dots click in it, the first option you can choose the update.
the miui 12.0.10. didn't work for me, bricked the phone.

Thank you, this mention of using cotton bud and band helps drain the battery faster so i can reboot the phone.

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to share the solution that we found out. My Friend had his Poco M3 Bricked, dead boot. No recovery, No display(totally black screen) and when I plug it in via USB it shows "

Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 "

Been here about a month ago hoping that there is a solution. We tried the rubber band Method(See the attached image how to do it) you just need a cotton buds and a rubber band. Just place the tip of the cotton bud into the power button and secure it with rubber band 2 knots. So it's pressing the power button that way it's draining the battery it took him 2 days to drain it, But once the battery is drained the Charging Icon will display in the screen. And you can charge it and wait for it to boot up. This worked for my Xiaomi Redmi 9T and my Friend Poco M3 bot uses MIUI 12. After it boot again try to Avoid restarting it and Shutting it down so this may never happen Again.

I did update it and now my phone wont boot at all, after the battery hits 1%,it just wont do anything and its been 2 weeks,pc does detect it as qualcom loader but flashing without auth wont work,Im just waiting for firehose file for this stupid phone.People with auth asking for $30 for fixing it but without guarantee that it will work, what a joke.
So did you fix your phone?
Mates,

Please share your ideas. I encountered the deadboot problem 2 weeks ago when I had 50% battery. I let the phone discharge on its own and it took only 3 days then a battery empty icon appeared and I charged it and it turned on. And last Sunday (6days ago) I forgot to charge it and it turned off at 0% (battery empty). But still when i connect it to the laptop it detects the phone and no sign of battery empty icon. I mean how's that possible when I had 50% battery it only took 3 days and now it's 6 days when turned off at 0%. By the way I saw this cotton band method today and I'm currently doing it. (4 hours) no sign of battery empty icon so far. What should I do? I cannot give it to the service center without getting my data. Please respond thanks in advance.

я просто сообщаю исправление одному пользователю: [USER = 5337498] chegue4 [/ USER]
Hi, friend. Is there another solution besides the cover? Or is that it?

Привет, брат
Как я уже говорил
Между конденсатором и внутренней стороной экрана есть контакт, который вызывает короткое замыкание, влияет на процессоры, просто разомкните этот контакт, сняв экран.
I did it the same day. Then he washed it with alcohol, but did not put the lid back. Still works like new. :) :)

Guys this is my procedure to turn on the phone:

I can make it turn on Android after messing with the battery and sub-board cables but this is just a workahound, trying to turn it on normally through the power button always makes it turn on in edl mode

But opening the device voids the warranty, so anyone who has access to a repair center is better off asking for the warranty

    What to do:
    1. Disconnect the battery cable and the secondary board cable.
    2. Connect charger.
    3. Hold the power button.
    4. Connect the secondary board cable and quickly connect the battery cable.
    5. Release the power button when the device vibrates.

It doesn't always work the first time, you may need several tries to get it

I just wait till the battery totally discharge and then plug in the charger, sofar been through this problem for 2x,the first one for 2 days and 5 days for later because the battery was full.
This happens when Im restarting the device and now even there is a new update,Im still scare to update my device to the latest firmware incase it wont boot again.
Should I try to update or nah, guys?

How about custom roms, did you try it?
I've been waiting for this m3 patched m3 firehose edl no auth file to surface on the web but still no luck.I just want to unlock my bootloader.
This problem started to happen to me while I was running Crdroid. A couple of weeks earlier when it was still in the stock ROM I had installed update 12.0.8. Install custom ROM does not solve the problem. Although it appears to be an issue created by an update, it's not simply a software issue, it's a problem that was bound to happen. If that weren't so, Poco's repair centers would only be repairing the system of the devices that arrive there and not entirely replacing the main board. I also have a suspicion that this issue is happening with a specific manufacturing batch. Mine and those of people I know with the same problem were manufactured in 2020.11. I would like everyone here with this problem to say the date of manufacture of your M3, you can read this information on the box.
