Central Standard Time here. Sorry if this the wrong spot for this... but I have had my razer phone for a little over 24 hours now and was just checking in to see if anyone wants me to test anything.

camera test

Will you please try downloading gcam and see how it takes pictures with gcam? both using HDR+ and regular.

GCam is the camera app from the pixel phones. there are versions of it for different phones (unofficially) here in xda.

I want to see how different the pictures are. i heard that they were using the S7 Edge camera sensor. that leads me to believe that the camera is potentially not bad. Basically that would be a win for all of us if true. will you put that to the test? thanks man. also i was looking to buy it to root as well but im not sure if you are up to go that far but if you do, let me know how it goes. thank you very much! :D :cowboy:

Gcam with hdr+ does help a ton! The camera is still a little slow but the ceo for razer said updates to address the camera are coming.

Is brightness as big an issue as some claim it to be? I dont often use my phone under the sun or even outdoor, but it still got me worrying.

IMHO,a resounding NO........
The display is plenty bright, adjust to your liking.

Adaptive lighting/auto brightness,I have both turned off.
I have yet to use a phone that suits me using either, always being too dim, this one is no different.

Crank it up to your liking manually & it's more than bright enough, with plenty to spare.

No phone is going to be as clear/bright/legible outdoors vs indoors.
From my experience/usage with many, many phones, there's negligible,if any, difference under sunlit/outdoor conditions from one phone to the next.
I'm sure you could detect negligible differences in a side-by-side comparison, but, that's not real-world usage, just for the bloggers/websites to have something to talk about.......

Rest assured, the screen is plenty bright,go ahead & dive in..................... :good:

Music player

Yeah, buddy.. for a phone that is supposed to be all about the music with Dolby, THX and the like - does it not come with a music player?
Any recomendations for playing music locally and on LAN?
Cheers
