Yes that's right. But it's easier to flash it over fastboot or adb sideloadHello everyone, I'm interested to try this rom. If I read the few previous posts correctly, it is said that the phone must be rooted to be able to receive OTA update. I just want to confirm is this true? Sorry for the silly question, because I'm quite new here.
Ok, thank you very much for your reply.Yes that's right. But it's easier to flash it over fastboot or adb sideload
Btw bro, does it mean that we could just download the build on the website and then sideload it? Or is there any special build that is intended for OTA? Because it seems there are some ROM that has separate OTA build.Yes that's right. But it's easier to flash it over fastboot or adb sideload
A complete Package is the previous 4.6 fastboot image with all the plattform tools. I don't know if you can directly flash the new 4.8 image over adb. Try it! A special OTA build is afair not released, just fastboot or adb sideload. Both will update the next release over OTA if your Phone is rooted and everything works correctly - see my previous posts.Btw bro, does it mean that we could just download the build on the website and then sideload it? Ok bro. I don't plan to root my phone because I think I don't need it. And if I install this I will choose the Gapps variant. So does it mean that for the future update I can just grab the Gapps variant file and sideload it through adb? Can we dirty install it? I've never tried fastboot method yet, but if it has to be done by fastboot, I could try to learn it. I think, but I must clean all data and cache last time because my problems - see my previous posts
fastboot is not more komplex than adb, but I think you can directly sideload the 4.8 with adb if you have the adb tool - if not it was inside the 4.6 fastboot image in the plattform tools directorysI've never tried fastboot method yet, but if it has to be done by fastboot, I could try to learn it.
This is not my business, I'm not a pro, I also need help sometimes if I have to flash a custom rom
Ok bro, thank you very much for all the answers. Really appreciate it.Yes, that's my way

I have no answer to that and I am not using dt2w but I can find this articleI've installed this ROM and so far my impression is good. But I have a problem with the dt2w. It seems it's not functioning properly. So after I just lock the screen, of I directly tap the screen, it will work. But after letting it for some time, it won't work. Anybody encounter the same problem?
Thanks bro, previously I used the dotOS, and as far as I remember I didn't encounter the dt2w issue, and it worked fine.I have no answer to that and I am not using dt2w but I can find this article
Looks like there are general troubles with custom roms and dt2w

Hopefully there will be a solution for this.Yes, I've got the same problem, although I've turned DT2W offUnfortunately, it happens to me very often that I accidentally wake the phone again while I put it in my pocket.
Then it also happens - unfortunately not reproducible - that the phone wakes up after long inactivity by double tapping (despite deactivated DT2W). The other day, I had the display on several times according to the battery statistics, even though the phone was in my pocket the whole time (pocket detection is also turned off, of course, because DT2W is off).
Kind of absurd when this feature doesn't do what it's supposed to both on and off.
