Hi there

I have had S-OFF via XTC-Clip for a long time but always wanted the alpharev hboot

so with help IEF on their IRCchannel I got it done

AGAIN this only gives you the Alpharev hboot, it will not provide initial S-OFF, this has to be achieved via XTC-Clip or other methods (there are none I know of) and will also NOT work on S-ON devices :p

first things first

THIS MAY SURELY BRICK YOUR DEVICE IF YOU DO IT WRONG OR SOMETHING GOES WRONG

you need fastboot, adb, on win the drivers, and the attached LEGEIMG.zip

boot into bootloader

Code:
adb reboot bootloader
then do
Code:
fastboot getvar modelid
it should state
Code:
modelid: PB76*****
then
Code:
fastboot getvar cid
should return
Code:
cidnum: 11111111
and finaly
Code:
fastboot getvar mainver
which should be
Code:
mainver: 1.02.666.3
but could also differ
IF IT DOES DIFFER and is not smaller or equal, you will need to change the mainver in the android-info.txt in the attached LEGEIMG.zip to your numbers, and rezip it

if everything is alright on that side, do
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
and then
Code:
fastboot flash zip LEGEIMG.zip
where as the LEGEIMG.zip must be in your current folder

you should now type in
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and be presented with the alpharev hboot :)

hf and I am certainly not responsible for any bricks AND THIS MAY SURELY BRICK YOUR DEVICE IF YOU DO IT WRONG OR SOMETHING GOES WRONG

No it doesnt, it's just for XTC Clip Users to change their HBOOT as far as I understand now

<FabianJ> Hey - I've just read this thread over there @xda http://bit.ly/pyvRnP, it says that S-OFF works from Legend's with HBOOT 1.0 and newer. But the Author of the topic already has S-OFF with XTC-Clip. So does it also work with normal Legends?
<attn1> no
<attn1> oh that
<attn1> yes
<attn1> but not hboot 1.0
[...]
<FabianJ> attn1, so there is still no possible way except the XTC Clip to get S-OFF on Legends with HBOOT 1.X
<attn1> XTC clip is one way.
<FabianJ> and the other way?
<attn1> but software, none that I know of
<attn1> xtc clip clones
<attn1> might work

Ok so, Just so I am clear, I have a Legend, it is S-OFF with an XTC Clip, it is also at HBOOT 1.01, will this file replace the current HBOOT with Alpharev's and what will be the version number after the replacement?

Why is alpha rev hboot with S-Off better than S-Ogg gained with XTC-clip? What are the diferences?

As far as I do understand it's better cause Alpharev HBOOT has the new Partition Layout (see BlaYo's HowTo Upgrade to HBOOT 1.0...).
The XTC Clip HBOOT is the >0.X HBOOT and this one could make troubles with some newer Android OS'es (I'm unsure if it's only Gingerbread or even FroYo)

One more question. IF I understand correct (I've searched for XTC Clip on interent), we can gain S-OFF on any hboot version (even 1.01) with this tool?

Ok so, it worked, I now have the Pink AlphaRev logo and the HBoot version is 1.00.1000 SHIP S-OFF. I went from HBoot 1.01, and the phone seems to be working normally, awesome, thanks!
