I spent a whole lot of time fiddling with my Nook Color to get really great battery life from it. On CM7.2 or derivative, with the right settings, I got up to 17 hours of screen-on time reading books (no wifi) and once flying home from Europe I watched movies for 10 hours straight... although the battery was just about dead then. When the NC started to really go south I bought an HD+. I'm super happy with the HD+. I just need to figure out a way to get some more battery from it.
I am running the mid-July build of CM10.1 on EMMC and there appears to be far fewer tweaks available with CM10.1 than there was with CM7 to improve or tune battery performance. I watched one movie (stored on SD) and it consumed over 50% of the battery life. I am getting more like 10 hours of reading books out of mine.
My goal is to get 16+ hours reading (using Moon+ Reader and epubs) and 8+ hours of movies (MX Player). Any suggestions on what I can do to get it there? Is there a kernel with clocking yet? I think underclocking while reading books is one key to long battery life in that case.
