Huge thank yous to e.mote, leapinlar, verygreeen, and anyone else involved in making this possible. Backup and installation was done in less then 20 minutes. The only way this could have been easier would be for you to have come to my house and done it for me. :good:

So I installed CM on a new Nook HD+, and it worked great for about 24 hours. Now everything is absolutely creeping slow, and the device shuts off seemingly randomly. I can reproduce the shutoff when I try to load a youtube video in chrome, but that isn't the only case where it will happen. I tried clearing the cache and the dalvik cache, but that didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas?

Went great here also

Recently got another HD+ that I use strictly with the B&N rom as a reader - so I ditched the SD card on my second one and went with the EMMC install.

Thanks to everyone involved with this.

Thank you e.mote, verygreen, leapinlar, etc.

Many thanks to you great people who made this possible to non-android people like me. I am from Windows world and found Android rather intimidating before. But now I am more comfortable. Thanks again.
Is it too much to ask for a Dummies Guide to go back to Nook Stock ROM in case one had to?
I have been playing with the CM10.1 for a couple of days on my brand new Nook HD+ and it all seems to work fine except for one freeze on browser requiring a reboot.

Big Thanks!

First, thanks to xda, for providing such an awesome platform for learning

Second, to e.mote, leapinlar and verygreen for all their hard work, and for educating those of us who couldn't begin to do this without you guys. Thanks x2.

The HD+ is my first go around with android/cm. CWM/ CM10.1 installed flawlessly with the help of your tutorials. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.:)

Try downloading again. It should be more like 9mb.

I tried several times... from differents computers ... but always stopped at 120Kb.

I've tested with the HD+ version and it was working fine with that file ... but not with HD version :(

Could you download the HD file without any error, please?

First, can I ask why you are going for rev3 and not rev4?

Does you have an hd or hd+?

Usb connectivity problems

I have installed per the process given and have the cm-10.1-20130615-UNOFFICIAL-hummingbird-emmc rom installed. The machine runs flawlessly by its self. The problem I am running into is that when I plug it into a computer via the usb cable the nook hd shows as an mtp device but errors when windows tries to install the driver and have been unable to google for one. I also tried to use it via my linux opensuse 12.3 desktop and it mounts but when you try to browse it via dolphin file browser it errors with malformed usb url. I am unable with 3 machines to mount and browse the device. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to solve this. I did check the usb mode and it is set as standard usb connection via settings. Thanks in advance.

USB host mode

I have been trying to mount USB pen drive using usb forced mode.
But it seems that the usb is detected as the LED glows on it, but it is not mounted.
I also tried to use USB host controller app. It showed all the information about the pen drive, but did not show mount point.
I also connected my hard disk drive, and the motor on it also ran; the information regarding the drive was shown but when it mounted it showed empty drive.

Please suggest solution for mounting USB drive and reading data from it.

My HD+ repeatedly will not boot from the card

Using a 64 gig card - does this make a difference? I've tried this approach and another one I found (running it permanently off the card vs installing to internal memory) and the tablet has not once booted from the card.

And right after I posted that, it booted from the card. First time ever. I think I held down the power button longer than usual (when starting it up). Go figure. I'll make sure to post about each problem I have so it can be fixed right away, no intervention needed.

battery issue

Hey guys since doing this installation I'm getting pretty significant battery drain. For instance last night I was at 84% and this morning I was already down to 74%.

Is this normal? I've tried app killers but still getting battery drain but to no avail!

Windows MTP drivers come with Windows Media Player. And make sure you have android debugging turned off when you try to install MTP.

new issue

So, the tablet works great! But I took that same SD card, reformatted it for its true size (64GB) to use for secondary storage. Copied a bunch of files to it, and the tablet doesn't see them. Sees an empty card. Any ideas?

Formatted it IN the tablet, and it was fine. I'm two for two! Now, who can tell me why videos (including side-loaded mp4s and YouTube) suddenly stopped working?
