Stuck in recovery boot loop forever

I followed all the steps given by you and in the first try it worked very well. Since, I wanted to install another custom rom I downloaded that and then installed that. But after that at first it went into emmc recovery boot but then again I tried to install CM 11 with your methods but now its stuck on cwm recovery boot loop it comes up regardless of I sd card in my nook or not. I get no error or anything, everything installs fine but when I restart after installing everything the recovery comes up.

And I also forgot to backup my ROM so no chance or recovering the old rom.

Thanks

Try going back to stock by going to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make a new CWM SD per item 1a and use that to flash a stock rom from item 6. Follow that with a factory reset by CWM.

Thanks for replying, just few moments ago I just turned on my Nook and finally I got the Rom loading and now it seems to be working fine. I dont know what caused that to happen before. Anyway tips to avoid that when I flash next time?

Going back to 10.2.1 from CM11M12

After a couple months of running CM11M12, I'm ready to go back to 10.2.1. The tablet is quite slow to bring up the apps screen, sometimes taking 2 or 3 seconds. Also sometimes the keyboard won't open when I press in a text field. I can't really see any benefits to CM11M12 vs 10.2.1 and the shortcomings are enough to make want to go back.

Can I just install 10.2.1 the way I did before (i.e., booting into the appropriate CWM from an SD card and installing the zips) or does going backward require some special process or extra steps?

Just to make sure you get rid of the newer gapps, I would recommend that once you are in CWM that you wipe /system as well as a factory reset before flashing the CM10 zip. And remember you need to use a CWM older that v6045 to flash CM10.

I'm lost as I was reading a different thread before arriving here. Other methods mentioned an img file, which I do not see in this method. As far as I understand, I format to fat32, set the sd card as active and just toss all the files in the sd card as is? The files have no extensions, they're simply... files except one which is .cwm. I don't see how it works, which is isn't for me on any microSD card.

I'm very new to this device BTW, and I have the HD+.

Thanks in advance for any help and information

This uses a different approach than the writing an img file to the SD. And yes, just copy the files as is except for extracting the 5 files from the .rar archive file. And be sure to copy the MLO file first. Don't worry what the files do, just trust they will work.

Thanks. I've been trying for for over an hour with different SD cards and no luck. Ive rebooted the tablet so many times that it reaches a point where it resets itself and all its stock based updates. No luck so far. The SD card slot works, but it doesn't wanna boot into the card no matter what.

Go to my hd/hd+ cwm thread linked in my signature. There in the first post (in the warning section) is a link to another thread about stubborn HD+ devices that are sometimes hard to get to boot to SD. There are suggested tricks in that thread to help you.

Seems to have been close enough as the Nook's reaction changed. If his was stubborn, mine is just a big jerk. It initiated the reboot but never turned on. It stayed off for about 3 minutes then turned itself on and continued to upate.

I read that these things hate big SD cards...niiiiiice. Thats all I have.
I tried that one particular threas you suggested and its like I said, it seems like it wants to work, but it will not boot up at all, screen stays completely off. When I forced shut down and turned it back on, it will boot normally. However, reading more, i read about the holding the N and power for 3 seconds, and again, same reaction, screen stays completely off, will not boot. Thats where things completely changed. Its to the point where it will stay off no mater what if the SD card is in. If i force shut down (hold power for 10 seconds) while its in this weird off state, and try to boot again, no go. But once i do this with the SD card removed, it boots normally. No idea if this has to do with the size of the SD card or what. Its as if it wants to do it now but its just the screen stays off...

I had some of those same issues myself. And they were all with a newer hd+. I have no advice other than what is in that thread.

Is there a way to get the Hulu app to work?

Otherwise, this was the best guide I have seen. Make it a breeze and my Nook HD+ works even faster than with stock.

Thank you!
You need to post that Hulu question in the thread for the version of CM you installed. Or maybe in the apps thread. This thread is for installation issues.

So I finally decided to install CM11, now that my warranty is up, I not too worried I'll break my Nook HD. I did try searching this thread for my issue, not that it is severe really, but has anyone noticed the screen flashing while performing the nandroid backup? Its very much like when you turn off the screen via power button, but instead of going black, it goes back to the default brightness, like when you press the power button to unlock the device.

The backup was proceeding just fine, even with the screen flashing, then after a while it stayed black. I suspect the battery went dead because I plugged in the charger and it booted. Just the same the battery was very warm like the flashing was causing a large draw on the battery. Could I have done something wrong?

Your battery may have just been low when you started. I have not heard of that before.

"Your device isn't compatible with this version"

There are some apps that I'm getting this message "Your device isn't compatible with this version" for example the "inside out thought bubbles" app. I'm on CM11 M12.
I've read about Market Helper and other solutions but they are a couple of years old and not sure if they still apply.
So what are the options available?
Not the most convenient method, but would sideloading work?
Would prefer a more permanent solution.
