So I am SIM and OEM unlocked but NOT rooted and I cant update from 19 to 25. Same error as above?
Doesn't matter if you're rooted or not. If you unlocked your bootloader, which it sounds like you did, it wiped out that reserve.img file...and without that file, the OTA will fail. After the img file has been restored, you should never need to do anything via command line/adb. You should be able to accept OTA directly from the phone. Use this method to restore the .img file and then try. Being rooted does not matter.

Actually not true. I had to uninstall magisk and only then could I take the update. I re rooted after I took the update

Somehow your abl is screwed up. Need to fix that. Hope you have a
backup. If not, you may just need to use one of the MSM tools, unlock,
then apply the OTA fixer for that version (thankfully we have one for
all the currently available versions).

I didn't say this was the exact issue or everything was true. I am just throwing ideas out there. I did NOT have to uninstall magisk and installed the OTA.

Edit: I meant that you can take the update via OTA without any shell commands or anything. Yes, of course you have to temporarily remove magisk (restore stock image). That's common sense. But you don't have to update and then go back into fastboot to reinstall the patched magisk img

My update wouldn't go through. I am on 10.0.16 but the update trying to install was 25. Do I have to do the 19 update first?

Same thing I said to the other guy. You've provided the to and from
versions, but I need a logcat during an update attempt to tell you why
this is failing. A 16->25 update should theoretically work, as they produced
a 13->19 update later on.

This tool worked for me to go from 19 to 27. Take your time and make sure you understand the steps.
A couple of points:
Make sure BOTH the unzipped (7zip) 'reserve' tool files AND the unzipped Platform tool files are in the same directory, not separate folders, all files open in one folder.
When you see the step referencing Magisk, it has been installed during the wait time as a new app on your phone, go look for it in your apps and open it. Take heed NOT to update Magisk as it is not needed for this tool.
Also after the final reboot after updating, it will hang on the t-mobile screen for a long time. Dont worry it will come up to home screen after.

Hey, do you have a mirror of the downloads, specifically version 19? Android File Host isn't working for me, won't download the file and is throwing a bunch of errors.
