i bought today a HD8 (new device from black friday).
can anyone say my, which version this is and how i can root this device?
there are so many devices and manuals here. thx in advance.

I can conclude that it's NOT the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8 2017 (douglas). Do not follow guides for douglas. or KFHD8 2017.

You have the Fire HD 8 2020 (10th gen) non-plus model. (8 Plus is K72LL3).

The codename for this device is onyx.

There is no root option and no custom roms. You can however use the fire toolbox to install Google services and a few more options.

If any developments happen in the future, they will most likely be marked with the [onyx] tag.
