HDMI out?

Hi

Does the moto x support HDMI out? I want to watch a large video file and the Chromecast keeps pausing when I'm trying to stream it, so I've downloaded it and want to now use HDMI out to watch it.
However the MHL adapter I have isn't working, what adapter do I need to get HDMI out to work or doesn't the phone have this function?
