Try to change the settings for hdmi in the service menu.

I thought it worked but when I plugged in the hdmi cable it said out of range again I have to keep going into the settings then press set resolution on 720p which was my default setting anyway

True lol on my other tv it works fine so I know its not a problem with my phone. I suppose its what you get when you buy a cheap brand tv :p

I have two RCA 23 & 19 and in none of the tv's works when I plug the phone, I even tried it in huge SONY 40 in one hotel I had to spend the night once and didn't work neither.

But what do works is:

1 Plug the phone to the tv.
2 Change the HDMI source in the tv ( if you haven't)
3 Shutdown the tv.
4 Turn on the tv. Voila!!!

Let me know if it works. And like this or doesn't matters what settings you have, at least in mine always displays 720p.
The downside it's that the phone screen its always on( I guess we have to see in the screen what we press) and my remote doesn't work( cheap tv). Maybe one HDMI remote will do.

My phone puts my tv into 1080/24p by default, I would imagine your tv dosnt support the default phone resolution. It's a shame the service menu settings don't save as 1080/24p is no use for me either, its fine for watching video content but anything like a game has terrible input lag
