The UE 600vi's don't work either.I can confirm that the Ultimate Ears (Logitech) 400vi's do NOT work with the Lumia 800, and I expect that all the UE ###vi's will similarly not work. When I say that they do not work, the audio is just fine, but the only function of the inline controls that works is to activate speech mode. The volume, track skip, play/pause and microphone all do not function.
I'm lead to believe that these UE's with inline controls are AHJ complaint earphones, and according to Nokia the Lumia should 'work' with AHJ complaint headsets. I guess it depends on your definition of works.
To be fair they do carry the 'made for iPhone/iPod' logos so its not like I thought they would definitely work - I had them from my iPhone days.
Has anyone managed to find a set that do work other than the somewhat expensive Nokia/Monster Purity ones? Are there any others that are known NOT to work?
Can you confirm that the HS3000 functions while plugged into a charger?I use the Samsung HS3000 adaptor and plug my on headphones in. I swap between some in ear sennheisers when out in public and some over the ear bose when in a more private place.
Sound quality seems fine (I always have background noise wherever I am, so don't notice the bluetooth compression), battery life is great, it can connect to two devices at once (normally lumia 800 and ipad for me) and it's only £17 from amazon.
All the controls work, call answer, hold, play, pause, forward, back vol up, vol down (though the volume is on the samsung, not the nokia), and it has some basic eq to add bass if the nokia is not giving enough.
I also have one in my car permanently plugged into the line in, and 12v charger. In car bluetooth streaming on the cheap!
I noticed you put smart headset with livesound@thelastred - Thank you for that, very helpful... my coments:
The Beats by Dre urBeats seems to be an old model now, and no longer manufactured as far as I can see.
The Beats Solo are over the head type and I want in-ear personally
The Nocs looks very interesting, the only downside is that I like (aftermarket) Comply foam tips, and Comply have told me they do not make any tips that will fit there.boo
The Sony Smart Headset/LiveSound (seemingly the same headphones) get very mixed reviewed and reportedly not all the buttons work with WP7 devices - but I might give them a try, but again, no foam tips from Comply.
The Nokia Purity will of course work with my Lumia, but are expensive and IMHO really quite ugly.
Bottom line so far... there's not enough choice!I'm seeing a few new models that have a single button on the chord, that's configurable via an app (usually only on Android though).
My search continues.
