Some phones are great to take camping because if you play Asphalt 8 long enough, the back warms up to the ideal temperature that can bake bread. Rate this thread to express the extent to which the Huawei Nexus 6P stays cool under extended heavy use. A higher rating indicates that even when playing strenuous games for long periods of time, the phone doesn't get uncomfortably warm.

Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
i have similar problem but only using on WhatsApp app. when ever i make a WhatsApp call the nexus 6p heats up. including with Instagram. any suggestions to why it happened after January 2018 update. i never experienced this problem with the previous security update.

The thermal compound Huawei used was junk. That contributed to the overheating and resulting blod. After years of use that thermal compound is definitely not transferring heat well at all. If you're comfortable removing the main board and shield to replace it you would see much less thermal throttling and extend the life of the phone. There's a thread about replacing it on here. As time goes on and the compound dries out more and more, replacing it becomes a really good idea.

Can confirm. Have to use a case or the aluminum back will get too hot to hold sometimes, however I'm also heavily overclocked.
You overclock knowing you might lose the four big cores? I underclock mine cause of that. I'm about to replace the battery so I'm gonna change the paste too

I'm not really afraid of it, I'd just buy another one or a Note 8. I just replaced my battery and the paste was fine. However I do keep my GPU at 400Mhz unless I need it. It helps with the heat a lot. I think the cores dying affects people that were prone to it. Both my BF and I have had a our 6P's running 1.7Ghz/2.01Ghz with Elemental X for the last year and haven't had any issues other than heat.
