hi guys,
I have a recent problem with my SM-p601 battery. Few days ago I have rooted my device with auto root, and then the battery started to drain INSTANTLY down in big steps like it turns from 80% to 20 % , from 90 to 15% or likewise. And it gives me different indications of battery percentage every time I restart my device. When I plug it to the charger, it starts to charge NORMALLY to 100% !!! I have just wiped all data and cache and installed a new firmware 4.4.2, but nothing changed and the problem still exists. Please help !

My device details in case they are needed:
Android Version: 4.4.2 official
Baseband Version: P601UBUCNE1
Kernel Version: 3.4.39-3554366
[email protected] #1
Build number: KOT49H.P601uBUCNL1

I had a similar problem with mine. There are several threads on this talking about various fixes. Some involved sending the Tab back to Samsung where they replaced several components including the battery and in some cases the screen. If you still have the warranty stop reading with this sentence and contact Samsung support. I bought mine as a refurbished model so I didn't have that luxury. I was starting to suspect a bad battery but didn't want to buy one just yet so I took the back cover off and reseated the battery connection to and the connector for the USB port. In the last two weeks I have had phenomenal battery life after doing this. Search YouTube for a video of how to replace the battery and you should see how to get the cover off and what connectors to reseat. Also if you don't have one of the plastic pry tools that the show in this videos, you can use a guitar pick, it's way cheaper and works just as well.
