It should work for anything with a Snapdragon 632
G7, G7 Play but not the G7 Plus that has a Snapdragon 636

Ask who ever pulled the image what block size they used and then substitute those figures in the command in the guide to write the image
Also make sure your sd card is large enough - I'd say at least 64gb for this device
