HELP: Cannot update do Hard-SPL?

Hi!

When I follow EXACTLY the informations of duttys guide (http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php...ask=view&id=38&Itemid=26&limit=1&limitstart=2) then I receive 1min after clicking the "Update ROM" Button an "error [260] update error" complaining about a not connected phone. The device is in service mode (4 colored screen) or how you call it.

The actual bootloader is indicating: HERM300 IPL-SSPL by Des SPL-1.09.ds

Any advices? Is it ok to update to WM6 with this bootloader or what can I do to get the safer Hard-SPL onto it?

What windows are you running?

Also what are you using to sync with it (USB/wifi etc...?)
Are your versions of the .net framework up to date?

Hi!

As writtten in the tutorial i am using USB connection with ActiveSync 4.5.
My OS is XP MCE with all current updates on it.
.net Frameworks should be ok too:
• v1.0.3705
• v1.1.4322
• v2.0.50727

Any advices?

Since you are running Media Centre Edition I can recvommend trying it on a standard XP (SP2) system and see if that works. Something about media centre might be messing with the connections over USB?

I cant believe it - but you are right! I just tried it on another Computer running normal XP SP2 - and it worked... maybe the MCE issue should be added to the requirements in the Howto

Very strange, did tons of flashing of different devices under XM MCE (cause use Vista on my main PC). And its asways working just fine.
