Help HD+, Don't work with iPega pg-ip123 2-in-1

I can pair my gamepad with my tablet but dont work, I press any button and don't work it. Please, Help Me!
My Nook HD+ its not rooted, have Android 4.0 default, Should I root before to use the gamepad/keyboard?
