[HELP] Installing Custom Recovery

So, i'd liek to get a custom recovery onto my phone since I still have the stock(Well had till I recently scrwed that up). Anyway, can someone help me out here? Looked on google and triedto loo karound on here and see alot of them trying to get a .tar and use it through ODIN in Download mode but that fails me everytime.
Im running on the Verizon SM-G900V Galaxy S5. So if anyone could help or possibly point me in the right direction i'd GREATELY appreciate it.

Yeah, using Odin V3.09, I plug in my phone in download mode, it works fine, I put the .tar in the AP, it's all set to go, click start, and on one of the files, it fails after 3 seconds, the other it will try to do what it's doing, then it will still fail.

No custom recovery on g900v, you can use safestrap but that's only on KitKat, on L you'll need to flash an older kernel any time you want to use it.
