Since I have sold this phone, can anyone make a back-up of all the files from my mega link and post it here for whoever needs it? I want to free up the space taken by these files from my cloud, and it would be a shame if they'd be lost. Thanks!

I have imported it in my cloud
https://mega.nz/#F!ndhjkT5T!TZ2Gy-HJhJLO_j_GpaNf4A.
I will leave it there for a long time. I will also upload it to cloud.ru later.

One question though, the docx file is named steps for rooting. Is that the tutorial to root or to flash firmware? I would say that this is flashing.

It's for flashing, but that's how it was translated. Definitely for flashing though. You can find a step-by-step on how to root on the russian site I posted a few pages back. :)

Have any of you received the ZUI 4 update for lenovo z5 through OTA? It seems that the russian site provided above already has firmware for ZUI 4 update but when I checked through OTA it still doesn't have any updates.

not yet, but i am imaptient to get it since it includes led notification and reposition of software buttons.
I will not use the russian version just in case and will wait for the official one thorugh system upate.
I hope that updating will not bring back chinese apps i uninstalled.

EDIT:
I have looked at those flashing instructions and you dont have to use that chinese version or install anything. QFlash is standalone and can be downloaded separately
https://androidmtk.com/download-qualcomm-flash-image-loader-qfil

QPST is used only because it comes with qflash
https://androidmtk.com/download-qpst-flash-tool

Also, worth mentioning is that you should not flash anything but stock on locked bootloader. So, no multinalnguage unless you know how to unlock.

Thank God. i was starting to tet worried that i might have done something wrong with flashing my phone phew. I think i might just wait for the OTA update to avoid any problems as some users have reported errors occuring upon flashing ZUI 4 others even had their phones soft bricked

Hello , just to share my experience during flashing stock rom firmware base on the procedure that given or post on this site. The 3 needed (Qfil ,zui firmware and step by step) the flashing was not made successfully because of the following problems, during qfil configuration theres another options there : firehost program setting :download protocol there is to choices to consider 0-sahara and 1-dmss i think which not same on the tutorial that was share and then during the final step which is to download theres prompt on the bottom box tell: Download fail: Sahara fail:QSahara server fail: Process fail. Please help me to fix this so that i can back my firmware to stockrom so that the updates app will appear.

Where did you download qfil?
If you downloaded standalone, try the one from qpst installation since it might be different version.
Also, did you enter fastboot mode (or whatever mode is required) with power and volume buttons?

Hello all - got a Z5 in the UK - great price for awesome hardware (it's going to sell well), but the supplier is useless - it has had the boot loader unlocked prior to me receiving it, so the System Update app refuses "your system has been root, we are unabe to provide the latest version...". I've d/l the ZUI4.0 from the Russian site to an SD card but SU says "There is not update package..>".

I realize I'm a newbie wrt Android flashing etc., and I'm reading everything I can, but can anyone help guide me to what I need to do to re-lock the boot loader, or get the offline installer to work? TIA.

For the offline udpate, you have to rename the zip to update.zip

As for locking botloader, it might not be the best idea if your recovery has been updated as well as the phone rooted.
Basicly, this is how it works when you want to root
1. you have to unlock bootloader. Boot loader is loading boot image. When it is locked, it checks boot image and recovery image to see if it is the stock one. If it is not it means that it is modified and it does not let it continue.
2. in order to flash anything like magisk or supersu, you need custom recovery image that allows flashing unlike stock images. So, you change the stock recovery to custom like TWRP. So if bootloader was locked, your phone would not boot after this.
3. once that you have these two done, you just need to modify the system partition to gain root access or what ever. Maybe even install whole custom rom. This is done by flashing zip files that make the changes to system.

I wrote all this with a reaseon.
If you want to revert to pure stock, you have to flash the stock image and lose all data OR uninstall SU (super user) binary that allows root access. If you want to uninstall, you have to know which one is used and there are lots of these. Most common is superSU, but...
Personally, i like root and would just flash the dwnloaded update package.

Hello,
I just followed from what is being post regarding on flashing of stock rom here. Also the app that i had used was the thing that uploaded here on mega app.
Is there anything to do first before im going to flash the firmware, i mean if the phone will be need to root or unlock its bootloader first? Because apparently my phone says that its bootloader was unlock by turning it on theres a message promt that my phone bootloader was unlock. Or theres another chance to upload again the app that you used and given us the simple and easiest way for flashing?( i mean the step/ procedure) , thank you for your kind assistance

And regarding for the fast boot mode sorry im not aware from that thing. I just did is the final step that turn off the cp press the volume + and -,then put the usb cord to pc then let go,then the loader qualcomm will appear.

What is the password for multilanguage?
Because qfil can not select these files prog_emmc_firehose_8937_ddr.mbn and xml without unpacking

To install multilanguage you do not have to unblock bootloader then rooting and then install this rom?

just in case if you still need the password ,it is 4pda

how did you locked the bootloader?

Glad it helped! :) I'm in the same situation, tampered multi-language rom, but didn't have the time to flash it yet, will do it tonight.

@CactusJack69, was your bootloader unlocked?[/QUOTE

Originally my bootloader was unlocked but after i flashed the stock rom i also locked the bootloader since OTA updates wont work with an unlocked bootloader.
