Many others are having this same issue with no resolution. See threads at the bottom of this post.

I received my Xoom back after the LTE upgrade and confirmed it was 3.2.2. Like a freaking idiot, instead of Rooting the factory installed 3.2.2 image, I just flashed Solarnz's 3.2.2 ROM assuming it was basically the same thing. At that moment, I lost 3g connectivity and have not been able to gain it back.

I noticed that under "Wireless & networks -> Mobile networks -> System Select" I have Automatic or Home. Before wiping the factory image, I had "LTE/CDMA" options which the instructions specifcally mentioned.

I'm very confused because AxeMachine confirmed that he DID have the LTE/CDMA option when flashing one of the same images I tried. See here

*Yes, 3g was working with the factory image
*No, I did not do a nandroid (I know, I know...)

Images I've flashed:
[ROM/UPDATE] Android Honeycomb 3.2.2 - Stock & Rooted.
The nandroid short/y posted here
The image AxeMachine posted here
3.2.2 "PIlot" image posted by AxeMachine
I've also re-locked, went back to 3.0.1 and upgraded via OTAs to 3.2 but don't get prompted for any further updates.

Yes, I always fastboot -w (wipe userdata and cache) unless the image comes with a userdata partition.

Like many others, I've spent an hour on the phone with VZW support and confirmed it's not an issue with my area or account.

This is the behavior:
*The radio works and detects the Verizon Wireless network.
*Activation succeeds
*After disabling/enabling Mobile Data, Mobile Status says 'Connecting' but then changes to 'Disconnected' after a few seconds.
*In this logcat you can see it disconnecting, reason=null http://pastebin.com/QRqkYcnv

Below are posts from people having the same problem as me. I have PM'd most of them and confirmed no one has found a solution:

Yeah join the FUBAR Club.

I was in the same boat as you did the same thing.

I now have my Xoom back to HLK75C and have 4G/3G and Wifi connectivity again so all is not lost!

What I did to fix my situation:

-I wiped the Device and just went through Solarnz's Root Method here.

-Download the HLK75C (This is the build the 4G Xoom's shipped back with) file that AceXMachine provided here, post #6

-Extract the File to your Android SDK Platform-Tools folder, password is AceXMachine

-Follow his instructions to apply the images. I copy pasted but all credit goes to him for putting this out there.

On Windows shift and right click the Platform-Tools folder -> Open Command Window here.

adb reboot bootloader

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot flash system system.img

fastboot erase cache

fastboot reboot

After following all of this I had my Xoom back just like it had come back from Moto after the upgrade. I've since then flashed the Tiamat Tachi OC GPU Kernel to have Overclocking again. No issues since then, have full 4G/3G Connectivity and Wifi has no issues as well.

Hope this Helps!

Kernel for 4G Xoom's?

Has anyone else tried the "[KERNEL][AOSP]Tiamat Xoom 2.1.0 "Tachi" [Update: 08/03]" kernel on their 4G Xoom yet?

No offense to Saintfyre but maybe he got lucky somehow.

Would love to get OC back but would hate to loose 4G especially after Waiting a week and a half for it.

The only thing I have done to mine since I got it back is Unlock and root it. It was wiped clean.

I guess I can get back to stock anyways.

Regarding - "I have no problems with 4G and 3G, my problem is I cannot connect to any WiFi networks, it just won't do it."

Have you tried deleting out all your saved Access points? I have seen numerous occasions where one will somehow get corrupted and then it won't connect to any until that one is deleted. Back them up with Titanium first. Do they show in Wi-Fi analyzer ok?

I assume you are talking after you put on Tiamat Tachi?

I had issues with the Rogue Arcturus Kernel and then I flashed Tachi over it and had nothing but a ****storm of headaches.

I rewiped though, reapplied the images, and applied Tachi on it fresh and haven't had any issues so maybe that has something to do with it?

I'm not that technical to understand what it is that's causing the issues.

I'm confused. I thought you did have issues with the Tachi kernel? I just got my Xoom back and I'm about to do the 'Universal Root'. Are you saying that as long as I don't try the Arcturus first, the Tachi should overclock the Xoom with the 4G LTE upgrade with no issue?

Thanks for the reply. That is definitely one of the images I've flashed and no luck. I'll definitely try it again when I get home and see if I get lucky.

EDIT/UPDATE: Same results as before. I've flashed every image possible at least 5 times. I always start fresh, flash userdata and cache, etc. I'm worried that the factory installed 3.2.2 contained a radio image update that is needed for the new 4g hardware and when I reverted back, I over wrote it.

No, I haven't flashed any kernels. I've also added brand new hotspots that it's never connected to before, no luck. Just perpetually says 'Obtaining IP Address...' Pretty frustrating. I rely on WiFi quite a bit, I've got the 3gb plan and have no intention of going over it... It connected to WiFi no problem until I flashed the rooted stock image in this thread:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242524

Didn't do a Nandroid, didn't read the thread to see that others were having this same issue... Have no problem switching between 3G and 4G.

I did a full system Titanium Backup before I sent it out, and reloaded everything after getting the rooted image on, that's when I noticed the WiFi issue... Thought it was related to the Titanium Backup reloading all of my system settings so I wiped and started over, reloaded the image as well just to be sure... Reloaded my apps only, no system settings and still the same exact issue.

That's most likely what it was. You can back up all user apps but have to be careful with overwriting system apps.

i may need to try this... but is it possible to get the stock kernel extracted out of this so I can replace the tachi I installed? Would that be me just flashing the boot image part of this?

Ever since I installed an aftermarket kernel after I got my 4g upgrade I have had major wireless issues. 3g /4g /wifi work great during use... but if I set my xoom down for a lil while and come back the wireless is frozen... shows connected but its white and gets no data, can't toggle wifi or airplane mode... only way to fix is a reboot. I'm hoping the stock kernel will alleviate this horriple symptom.

Thank you.

This saved me too. Big time. Question for you. Did you get the OTA to HLK75D afterward or are you still on HLK75C? Thanks.
I had to put on the HLK75D afterward manually but it installed ok and I have had no problems with it. I am still on the stock kernal. I think if I remember right it tried to do the auto update right after I flashed the HLK75C system but failed. I got the HLK75D Upgrade/patch from here

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18243360&postcount=10

I had to flash the HLK75C system image because I mistakenly restored over some system files using Titanium Backup when I was doing my app restore. Flashing the system.img and then doing fastboot erase userdata worked to fix that.

Tachi seems OK for 4G Xoom after all

I went ahead and got gutsy and put on the Tachi "[KERNEL][AOSP]Tiamat Xoom 2.1.0 "Tachi" [Update: 08/03]" kernel in hopes it wouldn't screw up the 4G yesterday and I could get OC back. So far it's been fine for me. I have brought it out of sleep about 15 times and so far it hasn't had any glitches.

I did notice that this morning I was already out of battery which surprised me a little but that may be just a fluke. I was using it a ton yesterday afternoon.

For me at my house the 4G signal is actually stronger than my 3G, i can get 4g pretty reliably and fast from my basement and I can't get 3G at all from down there.

I did notice a couple times I have not been able to wake up the Xoom at all and had to do the reset on it to reboot it. It's only happened twice out of about 30 wake ups, it could be a app issue.

i have had this issue in the past if the min clock speed is too low. Bump it up a notch and see if it solves the problem.

This post just fixed my issue, completely working again.

Tried this yesterday but it didn't solve my problem. I have wifi but no 3g/4g. I am now on HLK75D but even that did not fix the 3g/4g issue.

Is your sim card inserted? Lte hardware needs it for even a 3G connection.
