Hi guys,

I was previously using CM 12.1 on my Moto G 2014 (xt1068) first few days It was working awesome but after 2 weeks it started lagging i tried Greenify & Wakelock detector but still i was not able to resolve the issue then after few days.
I installed CM 13 same experience with this
first few days it worked fine then again i was experiencing laggs. I've tried clean master, c cleaner, all in 1 toolbox I've cleaned all the junk the cache memory.. But no use currently I'm having laggs while typing..this post on CM13.
Please can any one suggest what could be the problem.

Waiting for replies.

Try to to do a full factory reset (wipe user data as well as a clean flash).
I'm on cm 12.1 snapshot right now (cm 13 is good but still has to have major improvements).
I Dont face any lags, I don't use third party apps like clean master and stuff (they drain battery so Dont use them).
Just install L speed mod (Google it). Install a custom kernel if you wish to.

Cm13 is running fine on my xt1068. I suggest you not use xposed. Clean flash the latest nightly. Cm12.1 wont have any updates now. There are few post in cm13 thread about the touch delay. A temporary solution is to desable vibrate on touch. I personally dont face this issue. I also suggest u to not install any cleaner app. Give it a try. Its worth it.

Peace

Should i wait for CM 13 snapshot.. Or go with CM12.1 snapshot. If i continue to use the current CM 13 mightily before doing factory reset what should i backup. Currently i'm on CM 13 nightly build.

OK I'll do a factory reset and check my phones performance for 2-3 weeks if it doesn't work out I'll switch to CM 13 snapshot when it releases or go for CM 12.1 snapshot. Mostly i think nightly builds aren't stable.

I wanted to know should i backup all of my apps before performing factory reset.
I'm backing up the following..
Internal storage( songs,pics, documents etc..)
Contacts.
Messages.

What else should i backup?

Thanks for the replies.

Transfer files from int storage to comp or ext SD or via twrp(if that's possible I Dont remember properly)
Contacts are saved in Google so Dont need to worry (that is if you have given access to Google to do that)
For SMS : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore
Apps can be backed up via es file explorer (I Dont recommend titanium backup ). Google how to and remember to transfer the apks to other place.

Usually a factory reset is enough (it doesn't include internal storage). If u want apps to be backed up, do a nandroid backup from twrp recovery. Or u could just use titanium back to backup apps.

Honestly in my opinion and experience the amount of apps(system related i.e tweaking with xposed and stuff like that) is inversely proportional to your device's performance.
I've been using my cm 12.1 latest nightly since ages and is working perfectly i do backup and restore the nandroid whenever i need or want to use any other ROM.
To me the stock cm 12.1 works flawlessly with the stock kernel. it may happen with your tweaked kernel that the switching between the i/o scheduler or CPU frequency may lag your device a bit. and since the automatic hotplugs and CPU governor switching is not that good for most of the kernels. they may lag a little more than usual.

So all in all i recommend you to either factory clean your device on regular intervals. whenever you notice.
or just smartly install things and use it to your need.
And honestly speaking for kernels stock cm 12.1 kernel is way above par. it'll give you a nice 1 day battery backup with nice amount of daily gaming and multitasking. with my schedule of approx. 8-9 hours of constant usage with games like COC having a big share of my time and fair little here and there my battery lasts from 6am in the morning to 9-10pm and i notice not even a single lag.

Hope it helped.
