Hi, I have a Verizon note 3 running Lollipop OF1, rooted, and I want to install jasmine rom. I'm having a hard time finding information that is written in a way I could understand... So my main 2 questions are: how do I install it (jasmine rom) and, will it delete my data if I do?

Thanks.

Yes it will delete your data for you need to wipe before installation. Do you have Flashfire app installed?

Ok download jasmine 6.1 if you haven't already. Start flashfire
Grant permission to run
Press the + button bottom right
Tap flash zip
Chose jasmine zip file(usually in download directory)
Hit checkmark top right
Don't hit flash yet. First
Hit + again and choose wipe.
Make sure top 3 are checked
Hit checkmark top right
Then hit flash..phone go black.
Flashfire will prepare phone for zip. Beautiful writing will scroll past ..black and then you will see it flash jasmine. Then it should reboot and hopefully you will see 4 icons across screen and will be there so long you will think your in a bootloop. .wait.
after a while it will go into setup screen

Do not flash partial tar in instructions. That is for users on 4.2..

Jasmine 6.1

How long do you wait? I have done this well over 18 times and all it does is go to the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 logo with the "unlocked" lock and stays there. I've waited for an hour to 45 minutes and never a thing. I always have to re-install OF1 wait a day for it to settle then er-root..... always.

When you set flashfire up make sure the last step is to flash the rom. You have to long press on the steps to move them around. Otherwise you may be installing the rom and then wiping it away.

Hopefully it shows what you're looking for.
Mike. It looks fine. We can unlock our phones now. So I suggest you unlock your phone so you can put a recovery on it..then you can install jasmine through recovery after you've backed up your stock. And if you still have issues you can just restore backup.. have you seen the threads about this?

Un-lock.........

I saw two different methods and I tried one but it did not work and the video of the other seemed very cumbersome plus the guy in the video keeps saying Verizon Note 3 but his phone appears to be another version, a N9005 not a N900V. His video is the one I use for trying the Jasmine 6.1 install also.

Send me a good link for the unlock if you could with good instructions. Now I have to re-load OF1 and wait for it to settle then try to re-root again.

Thanks,
GoNavyMike

No reason to settle in. Just root. Did you do it twice the adb instructions. Does not take the first time

And if unlock does not work no reason to redo firmware

Jasmine..........

What do you mean by "twice the ADB instructions"? Plus I ALWAYS have to let it settle or it will not take the re-root.
I use to never have a problem rooting or flashing Roms, that was until LL. Not to mention that Titanium Backup is lousy now with LL. It constantly says insufficient space even after I deleted everything off my SD card. My SD card is a 64 Gb so I know I have plenty of space.

Since we're not getting MM, maybe I'll just wait for an exploit on it for my Note 3. I just don't know.

I've applied 0f1 firmware and rooted after setup. And the unlock by adb had to be done twice.. On terminal screen after unlock it stated to do it again..maybe its refined now

That's your best bet Mike. To root and unlock it ..once that is done jasmine through twrp should flow .And I would turn airplane mode off

Airplane mode.......

I use airplane mode because where I live I have very lousy reception and it drains my battery fast trying to connect, so I use my wifi a lot at home. I will try regular and see how it works. I re-odined OF1 yesterday and today I re-rooted after I let it settle over night. I then used the .apk to unlock and all is fine it seems, so I will probably try to put either Jasmine or some other Rom on it tomorrow. It seems to always work better if I wait until the next day. I don't know why, but it does. What's the best custom Rom available now for a rooted unlocked Verizon Note 3?

And undo airplane mode..I'm not sure if that would screw things up but with all the trouble your having that's the only thing that that might cause problems

Did you go into download mode and check to see if you have developer edition?
If so did you put recovery on?

Checked....

I checked and it shows as Developer but the CID didn't appear to have changed. I re-booted to normal so not to risk losing anything thus far. So no, I have not put a custom recovery on it yet. Actually a little nervous about trying again right now.

No you really should ..download flashify from google .install it and grant it permission when you open it.. hit recovery. Top twrp install reboot..your recovery will start and you can chose to back up . I would call it stock rooted..to change name within backup click on top where it says auto generated and type whatever you want..then after its done hit home on bottom middle..then you can reboot system. Your all set for jasmine or whatever. It will only go into recovery with button sequence
Have you used a recovery before?
