New ZTE Nubia Z7 Max
Hi All,
Note: I have read the complete 36 pages of this thread.
I received my new ZTE Nubia z7 max about 2 days back. Everything is great. Purchased the phone via Amazon here in Canada. The Phoen is freaking awesome. No doubt. I'll provide the details of my phone as below, post which i'll describe my issue.
Phone Specs
Model No: NX505J
Nubia UI: V2.5.0
Android Version: 4.4.2
Build No: NX505J_CNCommon_V9.38
Hardware Version: NX505JMB_A
Stock Nubia Recovery(English) Present
Have Multilanguage ROM, which means i have close to 50+ languages
From the above specifications, i believe i'm in 1.38 firmware version? Please correct me if i'm wrong. When i do system update , i'm intimated that i have an upgrade to 1.41 available. I start the upgrade and download 146MB file, which reboots and fails the upgrade in the recovery mode. Now i read in the forum, that i need to download the complete package of 724MB( for 1.41 version)
GOAL
1. To upgrade to 1.41 and to receive future updates via FOTA
2. Have CWM, so that i can take NANDROID backup of my phone.
2. To Root the phone properly
3. To Install Gapps Properly
OBSERVATIONS
My current phone with 1.38 works flawless. No issues at all. But no root, and i want the latest 1.41. Thats the only reason i want to achieve the above goals.
Now my actual issue starts
1. NOT ABLE TO UNROOT THE EXISTING SUPERSU FROM PHONE
I got the phone pre rooted and Gapps installed from the seller. When i say pre rooted, what i mean is that i see the Super SU(version 1.0.3.0) icon in app drawer. However, if i install Titanium backup, it says that my phone does not have root access. Checked it with root checker too. Same result. No root.
Then why am i seeing the SuperSU icon? and i'm not able to unroot too, since there is no option for unroot inside the SuperSu app. I tried the towelroot method. Towel root gets installed. Reboots the phone. I try installing SuperSu 2.00Version. Its gets installed. I open the app and it prompts to update the binaries. I select Normal mode, post which it give message that there is older SuperSu present, and need to be uninstalled. I give YES to uninstall. It fails ultimately.
I even did full factory reset from phone More --> Backup & Reset-->Factory reset. But its not removing the SuperSu or the Gapps with which the phone came preinstalled. HOW DO I CLEAN WIPE THE PHONE SO THAT ITS BARE FIRMWARE.
Can i proceed with the process mentioned by
@pilililo2. If i do proceed,
@pilililo2 has advised that the phone needs to be unroot, and then only should i put the 724MB file in phone internal memory and update the file through local update from disk option. BUT I"M NOT ABLE TO UNROOT. Will this cause any problem.
2. If i proceed with local update from disk, will it clean wipe my phone? If it doen't then the older pre installed SuperSu will still be present, which i will not be able to unroot, nor will i be able to install SuperSu 2.0.0 Version.
3. I have dowloaded the GMS Tool Kit from
@azeemzuhair. Some say that this didn't work for them. I mean after flashing 1.41 , i dont want to end up without root and Gapps. Thats why i'm asking so many questions.
I believe i have included all the relevant info here. Please tell me the correct procedure to unroot, and if flashing 1.41 will clean wipe or not?
