Hello guys. I just got my z7 max. It is good except for 1, the rear camera. It seems like during hdr, the image captured is darker than non hdr mode. I also think that mi3s rear cam produces a better picture. Is just me or it is really the case? Can I improve this cam performance? Thanks.

I also got a Z7 max with the multilange 1.38 version. If the phone reboots twice in one hour (always when in the settings menu) then the phone is probably broken?

Just follow the instructions install latest official 1.41 rom and hard test it for one day.... Maybe your problem is in the custom rom that they have installed you....
If the problem continues send the phone back to the seller... Where did you buy it from?

Encryption failed

Hi ,
Any help would be of great appreciation.
I tried to install CM11 IV every thing went well, but when tried to Exchange encryption it stuck with message "Encryption failed , Format device to proceed. I follow the process but unable to boot.

I manged to recover backup but cell become unstable, keep getting stuck & unable to boot.
I even tried to clear system System/Data/Cache/ followed by stock 1.41 but didnt help.

Do I need to perform any special step to get the rid of any corruption at system files.

Is their any way to recover stock ...

I would like to update via OTA but can't since every restart after updating will bring me to the unreadable CWM menu.
Can anyone help me? What are my options?

You have to change recovery (find instructions here in this thread) download from nNEEDROM official 1.41 rom and install it...

I've installed

It works ok, can click it, no error, reboot automatically, no problems

BUT I've tried

I've done "normal" because I don't have a CWM so far

and it makes a message "installation failed! please reboot and try again"
So I cannot flash a CWM before root it, so it is a loop and I cannot make a step forward.

Towel Root v1.0 has made everything - all ok and even rebooted it - no errors so I don't know why super su cannot works.
When I log in via SSHDroid and trying

[email protected]:/data/data/berserker.android.apps.sshdroid/home $ su -
255|[email protected]:/data/data/berserker.android.apps.sshdroid/home $ ls -l /data/
ls: can't open '/data/': Permission denied
1|[email protected]:/data/data/berserker.android.apps.sshdroid/home $

So on the one hand the "su -" works but the phone doesn't ask for permission, and on the other hand
the " ls -l /data/" gives me Permission denied so I definitely with NO root

any help ?

PS Can I use the "nubia system recovery" to install v.1.41 and then I can try Towel Root and the fu**ing super su which does not work now with my 1.29 ?
BTW how to do that with the "nubia system recovery" ?

I cleaned in "nubia system recovery" cache, data and so on, and update to
759835871 2014-11-16 22:08 NX505J-update.zip md5 9408c7d6c5cfbdd2fcb5f8a2dfe62c7e

It has changed my 1.29 to new Chinese 1.41 without google play
But I was able to install from SD
Towel Root v1.0 and SuperSU Pro

and superSu has done WITHOUT errors, first TIME !

so I could finally change "nubia system recovery" into "CWM recovery "

Hello guys,

I already installed stock rom v1.41 on my Z7 max. I've already rooted the phone and installed CW recovery. I've also installed Gapps and works properly. One question though, when I tried to check for an update, the phone found a new update but it is a lower version rom v1.38. How is that so? I'm already in v1.41 but it still recommends me to update with an older version? Is it a bug?

Hi guys,

I've tried CM11 4. edition, it works great so far.

It has way more options to tweak your NX505J. Highly recommended!
If you are missing Nubia camera, you can find the apk online.

Btw., Antutu also gives more than 43000 points, awesome!

I can only answer the 3. question: there is no "LTE only" option. For the camera, stock camera is the Nubia Camera, just download the apk and try. I can't tell big difference.

Hello i flash the CM11 IV but i dont have 3G or 4G only 2G,In the settings do not let me changed to 4G.How to fix this problem.

I bought it from one of the biggest sellers on Aliexpress so it's probably the same ROM some other people here received.

Sometimes it seemed the HSDPA connection was unstable because SpeedTest.net sometimes gave "Communication failure" even though it had full coverage (I tried the same app and same mobile provider on another phone at the same time which never gave any errors). With another operator (Telenor in Sweden) it never worked with mobile data at all, even though the APN settings were correct. With another operator both 3G and 4G worked.

Actually it's already on its way back to China, because of a faulty display, but the question is if I should get another one? If 1.41 didn't make some massive bugfixing and improvements then I think it's a bit too shaky... Too bad 5.5" dual microSIM-4G phones are not that common.

I've tested CM11 for ZTE Nubia Z7 MAX provided by chinese tdbeta forum. Filename is either one with md5sum d8b1adda6a6cb6054bae106fbd25fc0d:
cm11 nx505j II Edition.zip or cm-11-20140901-lwang-nx505j.zip

There is unwanted system application included by author which is not part of CM.
APK: system/app/Statics.apk . Presents itself as System Server 1.4.2, package name com.system.analytics.cpa

You can find a system process running from shell:

It's set to start on boot, trigger on each app install/deinstall, shutdown. Seems that it collects information about apps installed and reports this information to some remote web service together with imei, serial no and probably some additional private information.
I did not do deep analysis but binary strings suggest that this is unwanted application, for example:


I recommend disabling or removing this application (System Server 1.4.2) immediately if you're using CM11 NX505J build by lwang.

Interesting finding. Did you do more checking on the ROM as well ? Does it look safe apart of this issue ?

I had a quick look on www.romdu.com it seems to be a chinese site specialized on rom development. There seem to be some kind of contest too, and I wonder if they don't push rom devs to install this application. I'm not sure though since I'm not reading chinese, I only can rely on google translation.

PS: WTH with the unreadable captcha you need to enter on each post, but also for each preview !!? Can it be any less user friendly ?

That unoficial apk that is on the lwang roms, such as CM11 or MoKee roms developed by lwang, is a rom traceker to track user and install rates, it has no malicious code. But if youre still no comfortable using it, just go ahead and uninstall it.
