If anyone can help, I'm trying to build an AOSP rom for bacon, but my build stops with this error
Code:
[ 0% 29/28960] JarJar: out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/conscrypt_intermediates/classes-jarjar.jar
FAILED: /bin/bash -c "java -jar out/host/linux-x86/framework/jarjar.jar process external/conscrypt/jarjar-rules.txt out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/conscrypt_intermediates/classes-full-debug.jar out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/conscrypt_intermediates/classes-jarjar.jar"
Error: Could not find or load main class com.tonicsystems.jarjar.Main
ninja: build stopped: subcommand failed.
make: *** [build/core/ninja.mk:149: ninja_wrapper] Error 1
And i can't get it to work. Double-checked and the class is there, so i don't know what the error might be.
Can someone help?

If it matters, my stuff is hosted here

Hi there,
I am getting installation error via twrp, which I never had before and currently I have no idea, how to solve it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Its a N7 build for i9305 and the error is in screenshot.
Many thanks.

Don't worry about that error, just reboot. It's something that was added in to Android 7.0, if you really want to fix it, you can compile a new TWRP off of the android-7.0 branch.

Thanks for the reply. But that I have tried. And if I just/only reboot, it will only go back to recovery. I flashed an other kernel just on top of the rom and then its booting. Just another good try and error :). But then....getting bootloop on rom bootanimation....will have to dig deeper in I think.

That error won't cause that, it doesn't do anything. You should try examining the dmesg or a last_kmsg.

Yes, I think so too. Maybe the kernel flash solved the problem of rebooting into recovery and the error message haven't had an effect.

Hi, I am trying to build from source CM13. My plan is compiling the ROM for another very very similar device which had CM12 (ZTE Nubia Z9 mini) and was ported to my device (ZTE Axon Mini), but I can't even finish compiling for the Nubia. Once I finish compiling successfully for the Nubia, I will edit the necessary files to compile for the ZTE Axon Mini, just to make sure all building errors are due to modifying files.

1) The error encountered:

Code:

3) Your device tree that you have used for compiling (github link): https://github.com/minimino?tab=repositories

4) Which ROM are you building: CyanogenMod 13

5) The guide which you are using to build: I'm using various guides, but mainly these ones:

Cyanogenmod.org: How To Port CyanogenMod Android To Your Own Device

XDA-University: "Getting Started: Building Android From Source"

I've searched on Google and people having similar issues solve it by adding device_qcom_common (cm-13.0 branch), but when doing so I get the same error, just much sooner:

Code:

This error has been posted here before, and the above suggestion was made. I've entered make clean and synced repos, but still having the same error.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. :)

Hi I'm attempting at making F-AOSP for the lg g4 h811. I've already forked all the needed things for it (I.e vendor files, f-aosp platform_build, the kernel, and the platform_manifest for F-AOSP) My question is that when I try to build and after I git clone every one of those needed things, I don't know how to get my device to show in the lunch command so that I can build. Every time I type in lunch it doesn't show my device to build, so i don't know if I need to add it manually or not and if so how I would go about doing that. If I need to give more info I'll be glad to add it thanks.

I'm building CM13 at the Moment and just want to ask, how to define ro.Hardware, which is referenced in init.rc like this:
Code:
/import init.$(ro.hardware).rc

I want to avoid hardcoding it directly into the init.rc

Methods I have tried so far (none of them worked):
Adding TARGET_KERNEL_CMDLINE := androidboot.hardware=something to BoardConfig
Adding androidboot.hardware=something to the cmdline in the kernel defconfig
Adding ro.hardware=something through ADDITIONAL_DEFAULT_PROPERTIES in the device.mk

Kernel source: http://www.github.com/SiniTurk/android_kernel_samsung_cs02/tree/cm-13.0
Vendor tree: Does not exist yet

I'm builing on OmniROM 5.1 and I'm currently having this error for the past 2 days.
Code:
make: *** No rule to make target '/home/taco/android/omni/out/target/product/m1/obj/SHARED_LIBRARIES/libcamera_client_intermediates/export_includes', needed by '/home/taco/android/omni/out/target/product/m1/obj/SHARED_LIBRARIES/libandroid_runtime_intermediates/import_includes'. Stop.

I have been wandering around the question and answers forum for some time now...i noticed a thing that most of them who had errors building from source have been left un answered..

i assume the following reasons for this

1)no dev would really care to search through and help out
2)users are scared to pm dev's
3)their posts are getting lost due to no actiivity within seconds of posting

as a outcome of all the above

    the user isn't getting help

so i thought of making a thread for just source build errors..

so this this thread will focus on providing answers for all the problems that you are facing while building from source......

now i would like the users to follow a format similar to this for reporting

1)A full error encountered (pastie or any similar site's
    2)your device name
3)your device tree that you have used for compiling(github link)
4)which rom are you building(cm aokp etc)
5)The guide which you are using to build(link)

another kind request please spread the link for this thread as many may benefit from it....

and find developers who are interested in helping....

    feel free to give suggestions....

Before you move ahead make sure you copy paste this into the terminal

    32bit users(ics & below)
    HTML:
    sudo apt-get install git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev valgrind squashfs-tools zip curl pngcrush schedtool ia32-libs x11proto-core-dev libx11-dev:i386 libreadline6-dev:i386 libwxgtk2.6-dev

64bit ( you need this in addition with 32bit packages)

    HTML:
sudo apt-get install git-core gnupg flex bison gperf build-essential \
      zip curl zlib1g-dev libc6-dev lib32ncurses5-dev ia32-libs \
      x11proto-core-dev libx11-dev lib32readline5-dev lib32z-dev \
      libgl1-mesa-dev g++-multilib mingw32 tofrodos python-markdown \
      libxml2-utils gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib g++-multilib

    common build errors

    HTML:
    build/core/product_config.mk:196: *** _nic.PRODUCTS.[[device/YG/m805_892x/device_m805_892x.mk]]: "device/YG/m805_892x/m805_892x-vendor-blobs.mk" does not exist. Stop.

    cause for problem
    device_m805_892x.mk
Here in your device folder it is calling a make file which is required for compiling as in this case (device_m805_892x.mk) has a reference to
    (device/YG/m805_892x/m805_892x-vendor-blobs.mk)

    check if

    (m805_892x-vendor-blobs.mk)

is there in vendors folder... as in this case this is not found ..

    solution

1)remove the reference to that makefile..
2)check the path for makefile(these are case sensitive)
3)correct the makefile in vendor folder to match that in the makefile that has called it

    2)

    HTML:
make: *** No rule to make target `vendor/cm/proprietary/RomManager.apk', needed by `out/target/product/m805_892x/system/app/RomManager.apk'. Stop.
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....

    cause for the problem

Here the script is written to copy rommanager.apk to system app during the build process...
But the apk is missing which is stoping the make process

    solution

    cd into vendors/cm

    then type this

    HTML:
    ./get-prebuilts
