Well , i downloaded Aire`s ROM, tried to flash it, exactly the same thing happens, when i am requaired to put phone in flashmode, unplugg cable plug it back in, nothing changes animation screen stays on like nothing happened. Instruction for flashing rom says its for unlock bootloader, and i dident unlocked mine (at least i dident follow any procedure on doing so, just easy flash for root), I am not looking for some custom ROM atm , until i learn a bit more , i would just like to do the regular software upgrade.

pretty unhappy

P.S How do i check whether my bootloader is locked or not?
AFAIK you really should unlock your bootloader first before you can flash .ftf files with flashtool. Search in the Ray forum for the "testpoint" method (so you don't lose DRM) or the original method described by Doomlord in one of the first topics.

ye well i tried flashing .ftf just for the sake of it, it was mentioned that its primary for unlocked bootloaders , but that also is a way round it.
Anyway, main problem is obviously that the phone or PC dont recognize preparation of the phone to receive new firmware , like nothing happened.

Is there simple way to unroot the phone and put it back into the "out of box" condition?

AFAIK none that i know of. If you already unlocked bootloader with test point method, you should be able to revert to stock firmware.

And one thing: Don't flash Aire's ROM without his kernel. Some script (like auto OC init script) is integrated inside and make use of the custom kernel feature. but it's totally safe to use Aire's Kernel with stock ROM.

To check if your bootloader is locked or not, just try to flash aire's bootpe7.img with command line: type this. "fastboot flash boot bootpe7.img" if it still forbidden, then it is still locked.

You don't have to doubt about unlocking with test point method, it is perfectly safe and harmless (so far) and OTA update still able to be downloaded.

Thanks for the effort m8, and before I trouble you with some details about what you suggested 1 question:)

Is it possible that the superuser app has something to do with PS comp not being able to apply new firmware to the phone (as I stated i accidently instaled it with root , and after factory reset its still there and no unninstall option) , if so, does anyone has experience with it?

tnx in advance

No, Root app does not make the OTA failed. And Root app won't be erased because it is a system app. FYI factory reset only erase your data partition, not your system partition, so system app will be retained whereas user app will be removed due to user app is installed on data partition.

I would just like to mention (if its worth anything) that Pc companion turns off the phone when checking it during update , screen thats wants me to disconnect and reconect phone pops up, phone is off and after that windows report that new SEMC flash storage found , and than computer freezes , only hard reset reboots windows.

I think that your pc is the problem, like the usb driver is kinda old or your hardware is not quite good. Normally the pc won't hang. Yes the phone will be restarted, but not the pc.

I suspect that maybe the mini usb port on the phone might be problem, but if i want to use my warranty for it, guy from SE servise told me that i need to unroot my phone and put it in "out of the box" condition, so i wonder are there any step by step instructions on XDA how to unroot my phone? (phone is rooted ,CWM ..busybox installed , but bootloader is still locked).

Umm have you tried using another computer? to unroot, you might try DoomLord's zergRush unroot.

Maybe it's your drivers that are not correct ? Download the files in here USB Drivers from SonyE

You got much information about unlocking your bootloader in here : http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com but beware, it may void your warranty/DRM/etc. (There are more complicated methods that are in development in here that avoid the lost of DRMs. Since you got ROM .42, you could try the Zergrush method...)

So, about your drivers, assuming you're on Windows something, open your Config panel/Device manager (peripheral?) and check for your xPeria Ray, update drivers, choose the folder where you downloaded the files I pointed you.

Note, you have 2 modes you need the right drivers. Reboot with vol+ / bled led (fastboot) & reboot with vol- / green led (flashboot). Both launch needs different drivers (found in the zip package) so you'd better "update the drivers" with both.

Hope that can help you

try to charge it before sleeping, and leave it overnight without data connection. it should be loosing around 2-3% within 6 hours. please try to use Battery Monitor Widget to monitor the battery graph. If the drain is worse than that please report. :)
Ok, been able to test that, and yeah, battery drain is ridicule. 2 % overnight ! *thumbs up* . I believe it must be the display that is draining that much battery. Maybe I should try testing the automatic back light on & off for the eventual battery cost ? Have you made comparative test concerning that ?

to hansip87 @ DaddyCool78 1000 tnxs , everything is fixed , your sugestions where 100 % , it was my PC all along. Never would have thought that PC could be the problem since file transfers and flash business where smooth everytime from my day 1 with a phone, but as soon as i connected Ray to notebook (with older winXP and outdated drivers then desktop PC) everything updated to 0.62 with PC comp. smooth as silk within 5 mins.

Now...heheh, this official update to 0.62 unrooted my phone , i need to get back to business and root it with CWM ,and busybox install again, whats the easiest and safest method? And is it possible to root 0.62 without unlocking bootloader?

hmmm..nevermind previous q...ok..found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446308 , basicly i need to put it back to 0.42 to be able to root 0.62 + CWM ..lol..after all this trouble :) , but its cool i have a chance to toy with my Ray eaven more.
Can you tell me what is the best , easiest and safest metod to unlock bootloader (link if psbl plz) and is it possible to revert after that in time if i ever need to use my waranty?

And...once again very gratefull to u both.
