As the title suggests

I've just bought an OUYA and I stupidly updated it to the latest firmware and now that I want to root the thing it appears from a significant amount of "googling" that this is not currently possible.
Can anyone confirm if im stuck or if this is still possible to do could someone please point me in the direction of a guide?

I've tried installing RootMyOuya.1.1.apk and it refuses to install

thanks

Ok, I can confirm that you can root a virgin OUYA on chickcharney patch2 using towelroot v1 (im sat playing Hearthstone now!)

install and run towelroot v1 apk
install and run su - obtained via ouyatoolbox
install cwm via oneclick
--optional
install xposed framework
install Mod Collection for OUYA
turn off auto updates
install google play

if anyone wants files and a bigger/deeper guide let me know and i'll write one up

Managed to find tr1 and 2. Neither worked, both say device not supported. Was really lookimg forward to rooting ouya and modding the ishhh out of it, but i underestimated how hard it would be. Tried using ouya toolkit, oneclick root apk and towelroot, none have worked so far, im on the latest ouya firmware.

HELP!! :crying::crying:

Heres the files I used in one big .rar should be everything you need
I moved tr1.apk to sdcard\downloads before installing and rooting

I can't remember what site it was but last night I came across a post about people trying to root the ouya with newest firmware. It took a little time( install time) but it was pretty easy. First download and install the android SDK( it takes awhile but I couldn't find the ouya ABD interface drivers anywhere else) and then download and install kingo. It rooted my ouya no problem. And that you need the exposed installed. Don't get the latest version. The newest is ***********v32.zip I think. You want v29.zip and of course you'll need ps4ouya.zip as well. If you use the v32.zip the play store won't work. I think that should help a lot of people. I know this isn't the clearest explanation but I don't clams to be an expert lol
