Hey guys, i posted this issue a few days back in the AOSiP thread, because that's the rom i have been using for the past few months and i thought that people there might be able to help me, but since some time went by and i got no replies i think there's no harm in posting it again here, maybe someone here might have had the same or a similar issue and will be able to tell me what's going on, what to do or point me in the right direction.

I've started to have an issue with my battery. What's happening is when the phone is idle sometime it looses ~30% of the battery. It doesn't matter what services i have toggled on, it happened when i had everything active (wifi, 4g, data, gps, bluetooth) and when i disabled everything, it happens at random times during the day, sometimes dropping from ~50% to below 20, sometimes from ~30 straight down to one or three percent. Is this something any of you possibly encountered?
I'm at a loss for what to do, i have no idea if it's the rom or is my phone's battery giving up on me. I installed AccuBattery and it shows it being in perfect condition, 104% The app also does not show anything out of the ordinary, like an app or process that would drain the battery so much. It doesn't show a steep drop in battery percentage over that time, the drain occurs over a time of a few hours, just a gradual line that doesn't look too different from normal usage, but during the time it was supposed to be sleeping and instead of the phone loosing 2-5% of the battery while being idle it drains six times that. Just now as I'm writing this it occurred to me that this might possibly be my phone failing to go into deep sleep while the screen is off, is this a possibility?
It never happened before, i had other issues before i flashed any custom roms but upgrading to aosip fixed all of them, this battery problem is all new.

Again, sorry for posting the same issue for the second time, thank you very much in advance and have a nice day!

Hello everybody
I have an honor 5x, Kiw-L21,
After I unlocked the BL and flashed TWRP 3.3.1.0
I tried to install lineage, but with "Error 7" the installation failed.
Then I modified * .img the file "updater-script".
Lineage zipped again and installed with "twrp"
Then restarted. [Lineage-16.0-20191113-nightly-kiwi-signed]
Lineage bootloop! :(

When I start "twrp", the "lock" appears directly and "twrp" is frozen.
if the device starts in bootloader mode I can not select anything.

Then I flashed again with "adb" TWRP 3.3.1.0!
No change.

Did then with "adb" once TWRP 3.3.0.0 flashed!
No change.

Did then with "adb" once TWRP 3.0.0.0 flashed!
No change.

When I start "twrp", the "lock" appears directly and "twrp" is frozen.
if the device starts in bootloader mode I can not select anything.

I do not know next!
Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance for comments!
Have a nice day!

ps
Sorry for the bad english and thanks in advance.

Solution found

Hello everybody,
on my HONOR 5x, Kiw-L21,
I was able to use the original state restore this guide:
https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/honor-5x.2602/wiederherstellen-des-systems-honor-5x.799128.html
Now I have not made any further attempts!

Help me please!!! :(

Hello with everyone. Yesterday I flashed a zip that "allowed me to have VoLTE" in Custom Roms, but what happened was that my cell phone stopped having IMEI, Audio, Microphone and practically only serves as a camera. :(
My question is, will there be any way to solve it or do I just have to buy a new motherboard?

Flash the original firmware via dload method and you should be good.
Custom ROM dont support volte yet. probably it has ruined few stuffs

I accidentally deleted everything

Hello,

i recently made a huge mistake trying to install crDroid5.2 on my honor 5x via twrp. I was already on lineage 14.1 and i went directly for it. It didn't boot and i couldn't access to my phone anymore so i decided to reboot and to launch the factory reset via the emui menu.
It actually deleted everything on the memory (including android i guess?) and now i'm locked at 99% of the factory reset and my computer isn't able to detect the phone.
Is the phone dead? I understand i messed with something i don't understand at all so i'd just want to know if i can put it away or if i can wait to buy a new phone.
Thank you

MAC address spoofing

Did anyone of you manage to successfully change the MAC address temporarily on the 5X and connect to a wifi router?

I have a L21 running AOSiP9 with Magisk root.
In a terminal I can spoof my MAC address while having root via “ifconfig wlan0 hw ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx”. The phone accepts this and “ip link show wlan0” also shows the updated MAC address.

However, after the update I can no longer connect to wifi access points. On my WPA2 protected network the phone reports an incorrect password (it is correct thou). On unprotected networks the process gets stuck on obtaining IP.

I encountered the same behavior on a rooted LineageOS 16.0.

Unfortunately google only returns solutions for other devices and I could not find one that covers the Honor. My device does not feature an on-boot regenerated file in /data/misc/wifi as some other Qualcomm phones apparently do and I want to spoof the address only temporarily (ideally self resetting on reboot). I don’t really want to touch anything in /persist.

Also neither LOS nor AOSiP seem to include the out-of-the-box MAC randomizer that Pie is supposed to include. At least I could not find any switch for this.

If one of you knows a solution or has an idea what else to try, I’d appreciate the help.

Hi @Vybriss,

I had something similar happen to me earlier today. EMUI FR reset on my phone running AOSiP9 got stuck at 99%.

I found a lot of posts of this issue for other phones. There the solution seemed to be to wait for the battery to drain and the phone to switch off. Turning the phone back on afterwards supposedly booted into the installed OS again.

I found a different solution that worked for me though. I simply switched off the device while holding Vol Up+Down pressed. The phone turned on again automatically and I kept the volume buttons pressed until the HONOR boot screen appeared.

Usually this would get you into a recovery mode that flashes a firmware from the sd card. Due to another issue on my device it entered a broken update loop instead that didn’t do anything other than booting the device after a little waiting. Mine booted back into a reset AOSiP.

While your phone probably does not have that update loop issue, it might allow you to flash a stock firmware from your sd card. Just download a full firmware from the Honor 5X repository (https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/how-to/repository-honor-5x-file-depot-t3328288), unpack the UPDATE.APP in the firmware archive and place it into a folder called dload in the main directory of the sd card. Afterwards place the card into you phone and try booting it while holding both volume buttons pressed. This should make the phone flash a stock rom that fixes the phone. The C432B140 version of the firmware works well for me.

From there you should be able to boot into bootloader again and flash TWRP and whatever custom rom you want to work with. I had to download the stock firmware update first before doing that. Otherwise LOS and AOSiP failed a validation check.

Hope this helps you revive your phone if you are still looking for a solution.

Hello and thank you for your answer,

You were absolutely right by suggesting me the sd card solution and the downlowd of an original firmware.
I went for this one Honor 5X_Firmware_KIW-L21_Android 6.0.1_EMUI 4.0_C432B330CUSTC432D001_Denmark and did as you said with the dload folder and special booting.

And tadaaa... , the phone recognised the data and started the process just like the first day.
I can't thank you enough for the help you brought here, your explanation was crystal clear and easy to follow. :good:

So, just to confirm, there's currently no way to unlock the bootloader or get custom firmware onto the 5X without paying DC-Unlocker?
I was looking for one about a week ago as well and could not find an alternative. Unfortunately the workarounds of reading it from a restricted file that seem to work for other HUAWEI models does not seem to apply to the 5X. In the end I opted for the DC unlocker option. Luckily the fee is not exorbitant with EUR4 and payment could be made using paypal without revealing personal details. Getting the code via DC unlocker worked well though and connectivity to the phone could be tested before paying anything.

Root can be achieved on the 5X without an unlocked bootloader though. Downgrading to 5.1.1 allowed getting that with Kingroot. So theoretically it should be possible to retrieve the unlocker code manually from that point (doing whatever DC unlocker does), I could just not find any hints what that is.
